How do I know whether the ipod touch is new batch?, It's sealed and new! HELP?!got new prog?

Well I saw from the websites that the new batch of ipod touch has the new programs? How do I know whether a brand new one (sealed) has or not? It might be an old stock? Can I know where to check?

serial number printed at the back of the box... the 4th and 5th number stated is the week of the batch been processed...
 the larger the number, the newer it is...  btw, juz an opinion la, go for the old batch ones as u can get it way much cheaper, plus to get the 5 apps cost u less than u buy the pre-installed ones...  |

the part number is different...
old part number end with A and new part number end with B... |
