I used Netgear WGR614. Good signal transmission. I put it in my bedroom upstairs and my PS3 can get around 75%-80% signal in my living room downstairs. Performance still good with WPA2 security.

The in-built firewall is doing a good job. UPnP is activated by default, so it automatically configures the port for gaming, without compromising security.

Even when you hide the SSID, my PS3 still can detect the signal, but SSID privacy still maintained. It just show the AP SSID as an empty value.

No regrets buying it.

On a sidenote: I used a Billion ADSL Modem/Router as the frontline, then routed to my WGR614 and switched to all my devices in my house.

Don't worry. Most routers nowadays are easy to setup. Most of the default settings has been set to auto, so you can just plug and play. It's only when you need more control such as security, access control, performance, then only you go in and change the setting.

I'm using Netgear. Good signal quality both wired and wireless.

Anyways, for further discussion, please use the existing thread which consolidates all the issues pertaining to routers and modems for PS3 connectivity.
