b) Network Problem. I’m using Belkin G+ Router that integrates both modem and wireless, model number F5D9230-4. I’ve read the thread with regards network problem and have tried to do a static IP configuration for the PS3. I was referred to the site called portforwarding and followed the instructions to setup port 80, 443, 3478, 3479, 3658 and 5223 for my PS3 via a static IP. This process I’ve done whilst setting it up in the router. Then went to PS3 internet setting to input the manual IP add config similar to the one which I’ve created in the router. Whilst other options after the manual creation of the static IP in PS3 I just put as auto. Once done I checked the PS3 internet connection and it shows a satisfying 70% signal plus using the static IP add that I’ve registered it with. Further to this, at the bottom of the status screen it’s showing as NAT2, which I believe should not be a problem accessing the network. Thus when to sign in to the PSNetwork, but was was timeout due to error message server is not responding to my request. Btw, my PSN ID is “arachnod”. Accessing internet via the PS3 as well is a bit slow and sometimes is unbearable. Can you help me on this? Also to this configuration by a newbie like me, has caused my laptop to unable to access to the internet (I’m using Macbook Pro)
.
Hope you can help out since going crazy laa with this problem.....Thanks much if it's too long, we can liaise thru my PM....thank you taiko2X

aaron, thanks... doh.gif sometimes the cheapest is the best anyway. But problem is here is
a) I'm not sure whether it's my config yg salah... blush.gif
b) Not sure whether it's my signal problem but i'm getting around 75% average
c) Not sure it's trully my Belkin problem... grumble.gif
.
If go buy new router, would need to buy a separate modem as well and if problem persist, will surely kick myself in the head leh.....dah laa economic crunch..hahahaah cry.gif
.
btw, can I know which aztech model you bought and how much...could go to lowyatt tomorrow. Any good shops to recommend???

Aaron, thanks for the tip. No issues since if torrent only I use therefore playing ps3 is solely for ps3 only. Hehehehe. Regards to the setup of Belkin, anyone knows the right configuration? I bought Belkin due to name and also price leh….it was expensive at that point of time and G+ was top of the line….but now koyak leh…..
.
Solution I will try tonight is:
a) delete all the virtual server (ip add) setup and DMZ PS3 ip add or
b) reconfigure belkin static ip add for ps3 from 10 to 4, since for unknown reason I can only see 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5 under my DHCP client listing of the router. But DHCP is set from 1 – 100. Even set my PS3 to 2.10 oso never appear in the client listing
c) Give up and continue to play COD4 alone….huhuhuhuhuh
.
Venture, saw the buffalo router at low yatt just now, tempted to buy (since seller was persistent say no problem etc) but want to hold on first…..my belkin is still working so not sure if changing router would work…..
.
Meantime, any comments is much appreciated..regards…..

Bro rburn,.
.
Sorry noob here, what do you mean by deleting my cache? Is it via my router or ps3 cache? Went thru the whole system setting for both but cannot find anything on deleting cache except under PS3 internet browser, empty cache..
.
is this the one? If not appreciate your advice.
.

I dont know bro...

It's really difficult to judge by reading alone... have to hands on.

But from what i experienced, my Belkin didnt work at all, i gave it to my sister, and voila, boom, she so happy about the router.. damn.

But i'm happy with the Aztech one.

My advice, when all fails, switch to Aztech (i only say Aztech because it works for me) and sell the belkin to someone else.

Aaron,
.
Thanks. Seems Belkin sucks if wanna play network I guess (solely my experience so sorry to those taiko happily using Belkin).
So most feasibly solution is get a new modem + router separately and hopefull it’ll work…..my only worry is if it’s still the same problem and also…
.
furthermore, I’m an idiot when it comes to network setting. Buying a new modem/router would mean to do the setup again which I’m really bad at.
.
will see how it goes….waaarrrghhhhh

this is funny laa since some people got some problem with this router but other people don't..why aaa???? doh.gif doh.gif
.
by right it should be the same kan...anyway maybe due to config I suppose. Can I know whether if I own a DIR300 therefore my setup should be the same with another person or different?
.
it's just thinking of a new router but can't really specify which router to use (for minimum headache and straight action all the way, without config require) takut after you buy, then router cannot use...paiseh laa like that cry.gif cry.gif
.
Bro Amigo,
.
Thanks for the reply and will revert shortly as am digesting ur recommendations icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

Bro Amigo,.
.
Hey thanks man for the feedback and to trouble shoot the problem...... rclxms.gif rclxms.gif
.
Saw some guys using FD7630-4 if I'm not mistaken. I'm using the FD9230-4 a g+ router and modem encased into one. don't see anyone using this router. googled your N1 belkin vision. looks sleek and nice leh......price outside could be above 500 right? Is it integrated with the modem as well? my colleague are saying that for intergrated router normally will cause problems thus better by a separate system....
.
hmm setting back to factory setting I see......before I do that, I'll save my current setting. But by setting back to factory setting, will my password all (i.e. accessing to Streamyx and also router password) being reset as well? I'm just afraid since I can't remember my streamyx password doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif
.
After reset than all cannot use already liow. Anyway let's say I disable my internal firewall thus would this then result in my network to be more susceptible to hackers? Can I restrict the disabled firewall to only my PS3?
.
Will try this and update tomorrow, I hope since still in the office nia..... vmad.gif
.
Is it recommended to dynamic or static ID...what about your config? using static????
.
Thanks bro...

Bro Amigo,
.
Thanks man.....that is really a great advise.
.
Tried it last night and I disabled my firewall via the router. after tried to setup the network ps3 via easy setup which means my ip add is auto. funny thing is, I can't even get an ip add??? hahaha...anyway what I did next was, resetup ps3 to configure it to use static ip add which I've configured earlier......then at last managed to get the IP add (1st level) but 2nd level internet connection is failed...some error called DNS error 87010102......
.
Then after I checked my router it's not stable i.e. signal is on and off constantly...really don't know why.....anyway tried another thing i.e. router channel changed it from auto to manual channel. hope this helps and will try again tonight...
.
thanks bro and keep you updated...cheers

ok i know what u means cannot getting ip add. dont use auto add. use manual.

DNS error? u called streamyx hotline. is something wrong with your line?.

ok. thing u can do is (dunno whether its help or not, try fill up dns address that is
202.188.0.133
202.188.1.5

or if u suspect your router has problem. do a direct connection to the ps3 means
modem <---> ps3. use PPPOE. then see whether connection can be made or not.

play around with upnp thing. i'm not an expert but i'll try to help u.

sometimes i also got this DNS error 87010102...... thing.. vmad.gif

constructive comment is appreciated  icon_rolleyes.gif

.

yo amigo…..
.
actually I’ve changed it to auto add and assign static add, and can get the ip address already. Now upon trying to get the psn network it’s still the same error message….nia@#@#@#@ vmad.gif . Yet to try your earlier suggestion i.e. reset router, disable firewall and test ps3 connection. Last time I tried my connection was not stabled. One point got signal then signal disappear…..my ps3 also is showing only 45% signal strength…..maybe it’s raining for past few days?? I know it’s stupid, but dunnola icon_rolleyes.gif
.
The DNS add also is similar to the one uv suggested so not an issue there I suppose. I can’t connect directly to the router to my Ps3 since my router is upstairs then extensive cabling needs to be done.
.
So there’s two people now using belkin i.e. amigo, therescueone without any problem conenctnig to PS3. I’m the unluckiest one, thus this weekend could go and buy another router I suppose. But again, the problem is not all router is compatible and it really depends on ur luck since some have problems and some don’t.

bro advocade and aaron,
.
Can I know which model you've bought for aztech router??? seems this could be the best option since it's cheap so if still cannot use, tk menangis sgt cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif
.
what about your setup with aztech, do you need to do any complicated process i.e. static Ip laaa port forwarding la etc???? hope not and really hope it's plug and play....
.
cheers

Hi amigo and Chan,
.
YEsterday went over to lowyatt to get a new router and modem. since the shop was selling belkin asked him what's his experience...he said not problem and if got any problem call the helpline....he also mentioned whether the firmware is upgraded...I then go doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif ...wtf??? any I've tried that earlier via router option since ada firmware upgrade and it said none......
.
Then called the helpline and spoke to the customer service...I have to say they are based in India and damn, they are bloody helpful...!!! rclxms.gif rclxms.gif thumbsup to Belkin on support. So hanged up, search belkin for firmware upgrade and voila saw upgrade for model F5d9620-4 UK model version5...apparently my ver is 1 doh.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif
.
Anyway upgraded the firmware got a scare since after upgrading I lost all connection but thankfully there's a backup so just restarted my backup but my firmware stays at ver5.....it was late at night so I only tested going to Apple, Yahoo and Streamyx email (which before this I cannot access), and voila again the screen loads smoothly!!!!! rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif will try again my PSN network later as at office now, gotta leave early yesterday vmad.gif vmad.gif so will keep you updated... hopefully I'll see you guys soon on the net...btw if you don't mine sila2 la add newbie sorang nie....'arachnod' ...having MGS4 and COD4

Hi All,
.
Before kena 'flame', hope can assist, I've read the FAQ semua but can't find similar problem therefore please sifu2 please help me on this problem...getting frustrated..etc.!!!! rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif
.
I recently bought a new modem router i.e. Belkin N+ (with USB port) F5D8635. Setup was a breeze however when it comes to my PS3, I got frustrated big time.....the problem encountered are
a) Using Easy/Manual setup, get the message of 'Cannot Detect Access Point'. However my mac can detect the signal and also someother houses signals, whereas PS3 registered none.
-I've checked and recheck, my PS3 internet is enabled and my SSID is configured to be discoverable.
b) Having the normal DNS problem can't remember the exact code but around 8001002 and 8003102 or something.
- Setup of my PS3 - Manual config, Static IP (Under router placed under DMZ), Auto DHCP from Streamyx. I haven't tried port forward yet as I feel this might not be the problem, as firstly my PS3 cannot detect any server
c) I flash up my both my PS3 OS (3.15) and my Belkin OS to the latest OS available.
.
From the above can I ask for help
a) Have anyone encountered this before with other routers? The main problem I see is the PS3 cannot detect the networks. Previous modem/router I've used is Belkin as well but however it's G+. Could it be PS3 cannot detect N+ signals?
b) Are there anyone using the same modem router as I am i.e. F5D8635?? If yes, do you encounter the problem?? Did a quick search and somehow, bad reviews on connecting to PS3.....some stating seemingly impossible!!!! OMG shocking.gif shocking.gif
c) How do I check if my PS3 network card is the problem, since it cannot detect any signal??? If memang kaput, do you know how much to change or if can DIY???
.
If any sifu can help it's much appreciated!!!! Please help the tortured soul here........!!! icon_question.gif icon_question.gif icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

Vorchiel,
.
I'll double check on that however I'm sure that it's switched to enable all i.e. B, G and N. Are u using N or G and in fact any users using N modem can access wifi to PS3?
.
Azxel,
.
I'll try that as well. Currently it's locked. Reason I need it to be locked since the Belkin N+ allows the USB port for external hardrive which will be the server drive. If it's unlocked that I'm destined not to use this function.
.
I agree with Azxel, what happen to the plug and play functions etc...nie kena buat open port la, DMZ laa etc..aiyoooo sux big time. I can't use ethernet due to wiring problem.....
.
Anyone can assist? I have a feeling it could be ps3 as it cannot detect any other signals. Anyone knows how to troubleshoot this, whether or not it's the ps3 network card????

my blekin N+ working fine here,  only when 1time cannot detect the router. i just reset it then everthing work fine. ...maybe you should check your ps3 setting or network problem . .or else try to test your ps3 to  detect other router . .hope will help .
*
.
hi Richard!!!.
.
Finally someone using Belkin and it's a N+. What's ur model number and is it the same? Also do you switch it to run only on G or u left it to operate on B, N, and G?
.
I saw a lot of feedbacks stating to reset the router. Reset the router meaning, just off and switch on a again (while plugging all the wires out) or do a factory reset back on the router???? I'll try this later. .
.
How do I check my ps3 internet setting? I've checked that the internet for PS3 is enable and is there a way if I can determine if the network for ps3 is working?. Other then that it's the normal configuration. Guess in your statement is right, seems I can't use the Belkin to detect other wireless but however, my laptop is able to???
.
Thanks

F5D8635-4v1..is my router bro.The Belkin N+ is compatible with the PS3. It runs n/b/g so it works. I spent quite some time with it and was pretty frustrated, but here is what worked for me.

Disable all security for the Belkin N+
Connect PS3 wireless
Search for and apply any updates to PS3
Re-enable security on Belkin
Make sure to use the standard settings on wireless security and keep your key simple. Nothing fancy. No special characters or anything like that. Try to keep it to the minimum 8 digits, and keep it all lowercase letters.

After doing this, the PS3 connect fine for me .
hope it settle your problem bro . nod.gif

Hi Richard..

Hahahah a fellow Belkin user and the exact model as well!!!! Thanks man....

I'll try the methods u subscribe!!!!!! thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

But one thing which confuse me rclxub.gif rclxub.gif , why can't my PS3 detect other network whilst my laptop can detect around 3 - 4 network near my house? Anyone can help?
.
Hope this will work.....

Hi Richard,
.
yeap I followed your steps last night and yessir...it works and somehow, the ps3 started to detect other network inclusive of mine. What I did was
a) Disable all security for the Belkin N+
b) Change my SSID name
c) Ensure SSID Discoverable
d) Connect PS3 wireless
.
However my joy was shortlived!!!! sigh.....straight after detected, I
a) enable security with basic characters, only 8 characters
b) hide my SSID
c) open ports for PS3 games
.
Then the same thing happen again whereby access point not detected and also some $tupid DNS error pops up again..arghhh geram nyer!!!!!! vmad.gif vmad.gif
.
To add pain further, my router didn't register any internet connection thereafter till this morning...aiyaaa...must try again lor....Was streamyx down last nite???? Reset router, cabut plug, but didn't connect directly to router semua tk jalan and I internetless for now...... rclxub.gif rclxub.gif doh.gif
.
This is causing me so much pain..sigh...anyone can do outsource ka??? heheheh icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif
