Hello,

I'm a uni student in an IT course. I have not acquired the latest version of Microsoft Office 2008 for Macs nor iWork.

My choice now boils down to 2 versions; OpenOffice or NeoOffice. I heard from friends that when you open a .doc document saved from Microsoft Office with OpenOffice, the alignment and everything goes cuckoo. I have not heard anything about NeoOffice though.

I understand that both Neo and Open office supports saved files from Microsoft Office (which, unfortunately, my uni dominantly uses), right? And If I were to get either Neo or Open office, which one would you guys recommend?

Thanks a billion smile.gif I'm still leaning towards OpenOffice's side though tongue.gif

The alignment will go cukoo even between different versions of Microsoft Office. I am using NeoOficce. I don't work on .doc files much so NeoOffice no problem.

I tried OpenOffice, and not really happy with it. Slow/laggy and it uses X11. *whimper*
