My company is using Checkpoint SecureVPN and we recently got a Maxis Broadband Power Package (corporate account) for the GM.

We can get HSDPA at the office but when he uses Maxix BB at home, the connection is always GSM or GPRS. Will receive a connection timeout or gateway not responding error when trying to connect to VPN. From the connection status, there's outgoing packets but no incoming.

Is there's any known issue with VPN for Maxis BB. Would like to confirm it's not the low speed which is causing the problem, before complaining to Checkpoint.

maybe the GPRS speed is too slow for your GM to connect to the VPN.

No known problems for Maxis BB and our VPN.

Not sure how your VPN is setup though so I can't comment too much. We're using OpenVPN a SSL based VPN.

I think it's not the VPN's problem.
I don't use a VPN but while I was researching for work, my speed dropped to 5mbps also.
I tried changing my wireless router but still at the same speed.
So it's definitely not you but Maxis itself as speedtest shows downloads speed 5mbps while upload seems to be at normal speed.

I'm not using VPN right now but I am also experiencing slow speed.
It took me a long time to enter Overwatch today also. Ping are fine but I'm getting packet drops

Yes, route to Japan can be bad, my router is connected to friend router (TIME), I just use route some high/slow link to friend TIME, very convenient having ability to stable the connection on the fly and whole home
