epicentre in pavilion, machines in midvalley, maccity in one utama... all selling games & software for mac.

my preference would be epicentre, cause they have a lot more titles available & are nicely stacked... seem like new stocks compared to others,

It's just opposite Star Hill and i think Epicentre has more games than Machines.

btw, what's your macbook gen? Latest 1? or using GMA950? From what i heard la, X3100 (santa rosa macbook) mac driver very cacat, even worse than GMA950. sweat.gif

Well, for gaming, i would recommend you go install winxp or vista. X3100 performs great in windows side. Can run nfs:pro street in good shape but definitely not FPS genre. Sims2 i hav not tested in my macbook yet. Performance should be great wink.gif

From what I read on other Sims forums, Sims won't run so smoothly on a MacBook. The base game alone should be fine, but the performance would deteriorate with every expansion pack installed.

I used to play Sims on a laptop that had the GMA950. Several graphic options were unavailable, and after extended game play, the textures would go blurry despite my settings set to the highest. I experienced a fair bit of lag too on big lots, or lots that had a lot of Sims on them. (If it helps, I had 1.5GB of RAM on that laptop.)

well, if you are a "gamer" la.. You have to fork extra buck in mac machines(such as macbook pro) and also you have to install winxp/vista too. biggrin.gif mac games are extremely few. They are "countable" rolleyes.gif I'm not sure about sims2, i know EA games nowadays like NFS:Carbon mac version. it is using cider (kinda emulation). Performances sux big time if you compare in windows via the same mac machine. And integrated graphic card don't support at all, meaning macbook and mac mini can't play. doh.gif doh.gif iMac? Btw, do you know that iMac is using mobile (laptop) component?

All the best dude. biggrin.gif If you don't play game much, you sure "enjoy" mac. If you're gamer, i think no point. After all, you still need to use windows. biggrin.gif Only few games can play in mac os btw. wink.gif

well i hav not test. I think i should test it. Technically, X3100 performs better than GMA950. Benchmark (windows) shows 2x better compare to 950.

can. It depend on which type of games. And you need windows for games. RTS, Racing, MMORPG and etc.. All can, except FPS (such as crysis and oblivion). Half-Life2 no problem cos the game is quite old. Any games below the year of 2006 can play smoothly. If you looking for "future games", then macbook is really no-no due to intel integrated graphic. Else, go for macbook pro.

I own a macbook, i lovin'. Can play most of my favour games too (mostly racing games, RTS like DOW and not to mention MMORPG brows.gif ). wink.gif
