The long awaited fighting game is being shown now! And no, its not Street Fighter 4. hehe.

KOF XII has been kept under secret for a very long time now. And we have this little bit video being shown in AOU on 15th February 2008. You guys could watch the trailer in youtube now.

The graphics has been upgraded, and the game now runs on Taito TypeX2 board. You get your old 2d fighting game, but with improved sprites and a 3d background. Characters also seem to occupy the screen much more, and it feels much like a wide screen game (Perhaps the leap to the Next Gen of gaming).

Your usual Kyo is showing off his flame alongside Ash Crimson. Other fighters such as Terry, Athena and Benimaru were on show. But there were some puzzling moments to think of. Such as the abscence of Iori.

But the best part, God Willing, it will be out in 2008.

I hope the new machine would come to our shores soon. Nowadays, alot of arcade centres use the old machines. No longer can see any new machines except in KL, even that is a rare sight.

same old engine, same old sprite, what are you guys gettin excited about and the backgrounds are not 3D

A leap in towards the current gen hardware doesn't necessarily mean it has to be 3d. I say SNK delivered on this newly redone sprites and besides that KoF isn't mean't for 3d style. Why change something that isn't even broken. Furthermore, it's being done on a newly upgraded engine which is being shown as Taito Type X 2.

Did anyone notice that KOF XII seems to go on a widescreen style? Not only the characters are bigger (Much closer to the screen), the movements feel more fluid.

Maybe thru videos the moves doesn't look so hard hitting. But I believe that is something for my eyes to see.

movements are more fluid cuz theres more sprites this time though the panning in and out of characters seems to have existed before which is what what i read from some people.

I dun mind not having new moves or rotations, but I'd like to see new animations! hehe. Maybe more hit boxes and more facial animations?

i think minimize abit(50%) of the effects like kyo's SS which is too huge n covered almost whole body kinda ugly...

and d speed of the movement obviously slower

maintaining the combo is a must for 2D games, not like SF2(i.e. jz use ken/ryu or others with similar styles, always hadouken and wait opponent to jump over then shoruken...win, but SF3 was GREAT! with added combos)

overall KOFXII will be nice...

Don't worry, it'll probably be tweaked. And I also think the same way as u do about the moves. I believe beta testing will be the key to a very great game.

Guard Attack is new? i tot they had that a long time ago? I like Attack Offset, its similar to Parry for SF3 but the input would be a move. Much like Rival Schools. Wall Stuck State sounds fun, when somehow the Striker system makes a return. I wonder what happened to the other systems introduced in XI. Hopefully they will still remain.

The mobo itself usually goes for more than 50,000 yen, roughly RM1700, plus shipping and the game.. Hope the game won't be too expensive. If making it in Type X I'd buy without second thought since there are more games around

I like some of the CAPCOM fighting games, but SNK one appeal to me more actually.

Well, I'm not sure how accurate the story is, I read it years ago on how Capcom decided to buy SNK when they were going down and out. But someone stepped in and help saved SNK's day.

I remember Playmore is founded by SNK staff, that has subsequently won all of the bankrupt SNK's assets and rights. They then merged the 2 company to call it SNK-Playmore. The subsequent KOF was released by this entity.

This was an official story. the one that I had was reported by Madman's cafe, and that was way back in 2000 something I remember, just before Eolith came into the scene.

Anyways, I'm really hoping that this game makes it to both 360 and PS3. Why? Because 98 ultimate match is headed to the 360, and I just want some multiplayer love.

i'm sure definitely will be ported to consoles, its jz matter of time..

that was still a beta test. I mean, look at SF4, even during Super moves they have pauses. So this one should be no different.

i hope they make the game pace faster...first time saw the video, slow combo, jump oso slow, i wonder if they still have the small jump, big jump like previous kof..everything seems so slow...and it looks more like capcom vs snk...just my opinion though.. and i want my old kyo look backkk!

KOF Re Birth has officially listed its characters in the game. All 20 are available and ready to go!

That 20? A whole bunch of venerated characters were excluded.

It's time for a major revamp on the franchise, just like what they did with Garou

Duo Lon was introduced in 2003. Was apart of Ash Crimson's team in that year. He's related to Lin from 2000, belonging to a secret sect that believes in some dragon power thingy. Also relates to kensou.

You guys should check out 2002 Unlimited Match. new character called Nameless. No kidding.

Although I own all KoF I've only played 94~97

Well, the Nests Story wasn't that good compared to the Orochi trilogy. The new one, which centralizes on the orochi and why Ash Crimson stole Chizuru and Iori's powers (Iori is flameless now, but looks very much like a badass still).

Them red eyes in Ash makes me think that he is a part of the orochi. just like how Yashiro was.

And my name was also inspired by mr. Crimson.

haha!nice nice!sad, im not so good play KOF games, im kinda confuse with those combos but i do like to see player vs player. Very exciting to watch and learn
