What are the things should be change when top overhaul and TB cleaning?
*Car is SR4 civic,SOHC manual, and already clocked 153k km over 11yrs
help me fill up the to-do list

To do
- flush/change clutch n brake fluid <- lot of work? just top it up?
- flush/change radiator
- change belts
- check/replace valve seals (or whatever you call it)

- get top set(gasket)- items included: head gasket, valve seal, rocker cover gasket, oil seal
- TB cleaning- just TB gasket. normally the workshop will diy the gasket from gasket paper.
- change belt- timing belt, aircond belt, alternator belt, power steering belt, water pump, oil seal.
- engine mounting.
- fuel filter

If your car is not burning engine oil, has never overheated, is not suffering serious oil leaks around the engine head, best is to not touch it at all and leave it as it is.

The reason of overhaul is just to have a healthier engine.
No, engine already been fine with no overheating etc.
Meaning just a regular engine oil change+ plugs checks+TB cleaning etc should be enough, ie if aint broke dont fix it?

Yes seriously if it ain't broke don't fix it, once you tear open the engine, it will never be the same again and also it might be a lot more problems if the mechanic doesn't take his time to do a proper job.

owh, OK..
thanks for the advices :thunbs:
Guess i wont touch the internals until im decided+have sufficient funds for a PnP.

Anyway, how long does it take to get the TB cleaned?
The belting and flushing fluid can be done in a day, but TB?

Few hours only, the cleaning is quick, just spray with carb cleaner, scrub a bit and wipe clean.

WRONG , that only work for proton cars.
if you do that to honda engine you just ruin your TB .

honda TB got a small motor/gear inside the TB component , if you spray with carb cleaner those carbon deposit will go in side to the motor and your idle will be ruin .

you suppose take off the motor 1st before you spray (green/black color one behind the TB)
and then the motor inside got plastic gear clean those with carb cleaner also then dont forget to p lubricated the gear.

Guess now i need to find some reputable honda service mechanic.
Thanks for the infos guys.

Anyway, since a poster mentioned that flushing brake/clutch fluid is a tedious job, but we cant simply topup the fluid without knowing the oil brand currently in use right?

Juz wanna tumpang thread ....
I will be sending my Wira for top overhaul today.....

now I am just confuse on the parts. Some people say must fix original. While the mechanic said there are 1 type is better than the original but he never tells me any brand or what. I haven't been in touch with cars stuffs long enough so need you guys to enlighten me

So for all the parts, is it must be 100% original in order to prevent any problem in future later?
