Tried to OC for a while yesterday night...

Vcore @ Stock 1.31V
Added Vcore to 1.34V (+0.03V) for testing @ 15.5 X 200Mhz (Fail)
Added Vcore to 1.36V (+0.05V) for testing @ 15.5 X 200Mhz (Fail)

Ok, I better stop before my black dog gone mad and vandalise my mobo.

The thing is, when I run Orthos, always was the CPU0 failed with "Illegal Sumouts Error" while CPU1 are perfectly fine. sweat.gif Single core faulty? Lolz...

I read lots of review and they said that the proc can reach 3.1Ghz on stock vcore.

Now I suspect, my mobo problem? As I hadn't flash any single bios yet and there's where I check there's a official bios from biostar with the description "Support the new G2" sleep.gif Tonight I try flash it and see what happen next rclxm9.gif
*
Oh.. Ur system spec is wat?

QUOTE(dblooi @ Feb 19 2008, 08:08 AM)
yes , 75ns and 195ns will give different super pi 1m results.
but not much different , maybe 0.0Xs icon_rolleyes.gif
If you are using D9 then u can stick to 75ns most of the time brows.gif
8k read/ write is not bad what  laugh.gif
oh ya ,make sure the trfc for different dimm slot is the same icon_rolleyes.gif
*
OH i see.. I use 125ns 325ns 195ns .. All also cannot clock higher already.. so, better stick to 125ns..

sweat.gif I forget to list out @ my sigg

AMD X2 5000+ BE
Biostar TA690G
4 X 1GB Corsair DDR2 667
Gigabyte Odin Pro 800W
hmm.gif tongue.gif I think that's quite sufficient right icon_idea.gif
*
Not all BE can do 3.1Ghz stock vcore.. Try lower multiplier first.. smile.gif

Btw, 0.03vcore extra only kar? pump 1.0v la.. then no problem only slowly decrease volt .. flex.gif

bro, r u sure u want him to fry his chip ar? + 1.0v make it 2.35v which i think no am2 mobo on earth will support that kinda voltage...  sweat.gif
*
laugh.gif Sorry .. typo .. 0.1v

Haiz.. A lot of stressing, testing and setting need to be done today.. I still dunno my mobo's HTT, PSU or PRocessor.. Whichever is holding me back .. Always fail in orthos.. Silverstone SST400 shud be enuff for this rig coz i dun use 8800..

i cant seem to put it beyond 2.900Ghz whatever setting I tried ...

afraid to increase vcore sumore  sweat.gif

Aiyo.. Vcore 1.312v only scare liao meh?

Go BIOS put 80c auto shut down..

I pump till 1.650 also no scare.. Coz overheat will auto shut down..

Too bad brisbane cannot go more even if u pump 1.7v

I rather challenge something very hard and the result we attain... tongue.gif Was very proud of it instead of :
"See, 3GHz piece of cake"
Then the other person,
"I also can lor.."

laugh.gif Their challenge is 3.6Ghz... Our challenge is 3Ghz.. doh.gif sweat.gif

Amedion,
Your elites, are they the heatspreader version or the non heat spreader version.
The non heat spreader ones i've seen and tested where actually most of them will hit 1000Mhz on 5-5-5-15 >2.0V.

dblooi,
There's one thing i would like to find out.
Previously when i was still on 939, i realised one thing called drive strength which could be set to strong or weak.
I do not find that on my AN9. Does it still apply to AM2 overclocking and if yes, will it be possible that it comes in a different form?
*
Mine is without .. I run 2.1v can't over 960Mhz .. Maybe I got gem here.. The gem that cannot OC.. sweat.gif

QUOTE(temptation1314 @ Feb 19 2008, 10:50 AM)
=.= 1.650?? zzz, you want your mobo catch fire?? It's not healthy you know wink.gif
*
Just use to test whether my processor reached its limit or my mobo dun wan go over 290HTT..
Still no answer.. Suspect my mobo causing the problem..

QUOTE(cracksys @ Feb 19 2008, 10:52 AM)
really ha ??

scare woo ... coz d Biostar hardware monitoring keep "weong!weong!" sometime  shocking.gif . i dont know whats wrong.

how bout its temp ?? can be trust ??
*
1.4v shud be ok lar.. Don't be afraid.. Can auto shut down 1..

Temp better dun over 50c idle.. load 70c also can .. more than that i dunno ..

Not all can go 4Ghz..

But if compare price between BE 5000+ vs E2160.. I'm in doubt.. Muahaha..

Now stressing my brisby at 2950Mhz.. NO error for 2 hours 15 minutes already... Load 54c~56c..

Based on my n00b experience ..
Processor clock too high = system freeze
GFX clock too high = artifacts all over the screen n system freeze
Ram clock too high = system restarts

Mobo HTT too high = Fail in ORthos? laugh.gif

Shud i get a mobo that can do higher in HTT or to change processor + mobo... ?

May the force be wif me ..

haha .. lalat no but lot of cable, yes  laugh.gif

i'm pushing my vcore rite now ... but there seems to be a problem ... its doesnt stay put

i mean .. in a second, it changed from 1.34 (current) to 1.31 and then upped again to 1.33 .. is this normal ??
waa ... on the same route as me  smile.gif

currently stressing at 2.945 ... crossing fingers

bout that n00b exp, i second that conclusion  nod.gif
*
It's normal only for undervolt and overvolt.. smile.gif

Exp like dual channel mode ram --64bit-->128bt

intel proc is EM64T proc ( tipu one )
Amd proc is 100% X86-64 64bit proc

Oh i see..

You use BE @ 3.2Ghz stock vcore & cooler.. I also thinking of getting this processor but scare my motherboard not gud enuff for it..
Somemore need high performance RAM .. You running 1066MHz?

AND referring to ur signature .. ur Team ram is with heatspreader? Care to share the settings coz I first time use team ram.. cannot over 950mhz..
Aiks.. Sorry.. urs is DDR800.. mine DDR667.. doh.gif

actually 3GHz also piece of cake for AMD la, haha
just that performance lose to c2d if compare clock to clock
That phrase really turn me into the dark side..

Now stressing with x9 multiplier.. Wanna see if my mobo can do above 300HTT without failing onot..

Then only decide to stay with light side or dark side..

Just done 300HTT on my motherboard.. Stable.. Means my processor holding me back..
Will try higher HTT later on see how much my Motherboard can support.. Then only use lower multiplier to see if can OC above 3Ghz pass Orthos..
Still long way to go..

The best setting so far without restart or BSOD..

Exhausted already.. Will stress later to see if it pass orthos and superpi....

Haiyo.. Fail in ORthos.. Not over 1 minutes also.. Guess this RAM has reached its limit.. yawn.gif

Must get performance RAM to run my 3Ghz smoothly..

lower ur clockspeed by dropping the multi n try again. Sometimes either 1 might reach really high speeds seperately, but need extra tweaking to get them to work together.

Run x4 multiplier and DDR800..

Doing 980Mhz also fail.. rclxms.gif
