QUOTE(1282009 @ Feb 15 2009, 11:16 PM) From the link ... have u seen one? the wired rope barrier is actuall made of steel and can sustain high tension. Also, the wired rope barrier has small 'working' area and thus, can produce high force accoding to F=m/A. The less area, the more force. to learn more, read this from wikipedia.."From this kind of crash, what we can learn is you should try avoid driving during wee hours as our body clocks are just not suitable to work optimally. Second, please wear your rear seatbelt. The rear seatbelts are there not just for the show. You must wear it for your own safety. Lastly, wired rope barrier might be hazardous to road users, so please be careful when driving on those highway stretch that using wired rope barrier (since no research has been done yet to justify this). " Hi, sorry, not quite understand how the wired rope barrier could have caused such serious damages. Any clues? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wire_Rope_Safety_barrier |

QUOTE(radmaszeal @ Feb 17 2009, 06:55 AM) lol. Force has nothing to do with area dude. F=ma (massxacceleration). The correct term is pressure, P=F/A (force/area). stabbing with a knife is easier than stabbing with a mace cos of the small contact area of the knife compared to the hammer, even though the force might be equal. omgeee..my bad..hahahahahahaha how many years since i left high school.. LOL |
