Dude, you gotta read more on street photography next time. Camera shy, giving tips were discussed many times. One thing you could create an avalanche, next time other photogs came and the mother all others around her would swarm the photogs anytime they try to take pictures. But then again it's the ethics. One thing you could ask the boy to take your picture as an icebreaker. Other is you could hang around the area with your camera snapping or pretend to snap things until they've become accustomed to you and then you take their pics. Martin Parr is an excellent street photog. Go look him up. I'm not bashing you bro, just sharing the knowledge coz I'm newbie too. No offense ya
