Hi guys
I'm a racing enthusiast and want to get started on a racing sim. I'm an absolute noob on this. For a beginner, what would be a good setup to have?
I heard about rfactor but can I know how is this different from a Ps4 or xbox racing games?
Can the pedals and steering wheel like G27 be used on a ps4 racing sim game?
Can members here point me to a trusted vendor where I can get such supplies from?
Many thanks and sorry for the noob questions

Thanks so much for your prompt reply, Shirley Andy ...
As a beginner, I'll be looking at some basic setup with some degree of realism.
For a start, a proper cockpit with seat (or any recommendation that can simulate this setup too? Hehe) and as you say, the logitech dfgt and single monitor first. What about PC? Any minimum requirements and what game disc should I be looking at from a beginners perspective?
I've just joined the group and will look see, get an idea and move from there
Thanks for the guidance again, cheers

Thanks again Shirley Andy for the heads up.
Nice setup you have...
I've more or less have an idea of what I need. Since I'm starting up, I don't want to be too ambitious with PC sims yet. I've decided to get a PS3 and Gt6 and probably, an F1 sim. I've read good things about GT6 from a realism perspective. I'm a point and shoot guy. Too lazy to do optimize set ups ala rfactor
So, here's my plan - PS3 (Ps4 if the logitech G27 can be supported) - GT6 and an F1 sim - either an Apiga AP2 plus racing sim with seat OR a whitebox racing seat set (I'm inclined to Apiga since its foldable) - Logitech G27 - was also thinking between whether I should run a single monitor or three monitor setup. Wonder if PS3 supports multi display? Is it a good idea to run multi display, in your opinion? I mean, how immersive is the gameplay and whether will it make one nauseous after awhile?
Thanks again. Will be shopping around next week to get things started on my passion.
Eventually, like you, I'll graduate to PC sims and I've some some prelim research on asking vendors to build a simple gaming rig for the purpose...
Thanks again my friend

Btw, found a very affordable racing cockpit vendor from Singapore https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...8827&hl=Cockpithttp://tech-city.myshopify.com/Will probably be getting the GT2 set from them rather than the Apiga Anyone keen on a group buy and nego for better price? QUOTE(shirley_andy @ Apr 7 2014, 01:16 AM) Need to do your own research on whether console support triple screen as I'm not sure as well. My advise is, getting a screen positioned as close as possible behind the steering wheel is more important than having triple screen, of course if u can bring it as close as possible and at the same time have triple screen then that's ideal. Cuz there's no point having a large monitor or 3 screens places far away. I've seen time and time again people(especially those racing with cockpit) have their monitor so far away(mainly due to the design of the cockpit and monitor stand). It completely ruin the potential immersion available to be experienced. Anyway its great to have 3 screen and I doubt it can cause nauseousness, but as many have proven before, 3 screens may be more provide more immersion but it rarely contribute to faster laptimes, in some cases might even make you a lil' slower when initially not used to it. Thanks for the great tip. Distance between wheel and display should be shortened. Roger that! Cheers

Got the GT1 cockpit series from them For the equivalent of rm 1300++ including shipping, I'm getting - full cockpit frame - integrated screen mount for up to 52 inch flat tv - faux leather racing seat - gear shift mount - frame wheels Best deal around by far, now just have to wait 3 weeks for shipment to arrive Comparatively, the Apiga ap2 was quoted at Rm1900 without integrated screen mount, frame wheels and only fabric seats
