Btw, that's not the point here. Like current apple product lines.. All of the mac machines are mobile based (laptop component) and how can you "modify" it? except mac pro. And as a matter of fact, there got some ppl who try to use normal market brand of graphic card for their mac pro. Some it works but some don't. So it is quite "hard" to modify. Even you got the hardware but it also need the software (drivers) to work. Usually Apple FIX everything, and they won't want others to "modify" it. And now that's where the hackintosh comes into.
