i previosly bought the ps3eye for the same reason u planning to do.. but in the end i sold it n get me a ps3 hedset due:1) you need to talk closely to the device for yr fren to here u clearly especially during gaming..
2) yr fren sound not tht clear through the speaker as it will mix up with the game sound.
if u using for normal chatting is ok... as for me i use it to play Socom (tactical).. so communication is very much important..
