Though the price for 40 GB is as low as RM 1200-RM 1350, has dropped almost 100% if you compare to early 2007. My question is will it continue to drop further? My target is RM 1000 for 40 GB standard pack, possible to occur in next year? 75% of the reason I wanna buy PS3 is for FF13 and upcoming God of War 3. Burnout Paradise is quite tempting but I can wait for it. FF13 won't be out at least until end of year.

btw , do the current 40 GB using 45nm chips?

if dont want to play other games, it's ok to wait until next year.

I believe it is the 60nm chips. The 45nm chips were just recently possible. The older generations like the 60GB and the 80GB should be on the 90nm chips.

If you are prepared to wait, you should wait. There's always a premium built in to snag the early adopters.

Price will drop, but I don't think it will go any much lower than it is already currently for the rest of the year(unless Sony cuts the price of the 40GB again).

The 40GB PS3 uses 65nm chip for its Cell architecture and 90nm for the RSX. Originally, both were 90nm variants. IBM has already started development on 45nm Cell and RSX is said to be receiving 45nm treatment in 2009.

Hell yea, I'm also suggesting myself between PS3 or an iPhone this coming August. for PS3, I might need to have a budget of at least 1,500 to include the ori game titles. Not that I'm supporting pirated copies, but the price in malaysia can really be painful to the average earner. Haizz....

im also gamer for very long time ever since i was 10 year .. been playing games since micro genius remember ? then the sega mega drive Which use cartrige game that time ..i spent all of my school money to buy these cartridge ... because one thing i just love video game .. my suggestion to you is just an opinion .. better wait at least next year January before buy ps3 1st things is you next year will justify whether ps3 will stand or lose the gaming battle .. because more quality hd games coming this year and end of this year ... the other thing is because ps3 works very well with Hd TV ..so you must have at least new lcd or plasma tv to enjoy ps3 to the fullest ... and most important thing is price definitely will drop to Below RM1500 .... that is normal ..cause when ps2 release i bought at rm 1,300 also in 2002 ...i think very worth it to wait

The longer u wait the titles u wana play will be gone example i tried 2 find genji2 and tekken5 for ps3 very hard 2 find,better buy the games 1st and keep coz m,sia dont have retailers for PS3 blu ray games,most of our games come from hong kong.

I will wait for Shadow of Colossus 2 release, then i will get PS3, but too bad this game still dint get any confirm from SCEI yet.
