PTPTN has sent me letter of repayment and attached v a payment schedule. shall I repay the loan v my own payment mode which is not follow by what is stated in the letter? eg, by the 1st year, I need to pay an average of RM100+. As I don't want to pay by monthly instalment, but I pay RM1000 twice a year, is it possbile?

FPX is secure even though I use CIMBClicks since the charge is lowest - 50 cents per transaction.

FPX is the best method, the statement is updated immediately. You need a internet banking account from several selected bank (public bank, cimb, maybank...) to do fpx. Suggest to use public bank, I never encountered any problem so far, my fren use cimb bank cannot work, dunno why.

Before you use fpx, firstly make sure you DISABLE ANY POPUP BLOCKER in internet explorer.

Go to this website: http://epay.ptptn.gov.my/loan/ptptnlogin.jsp , login using your IC and pin number. pin number can ask from PTPTN. At bottom of the page, you can find a textbox to fill in the amount you want to pay, then click the pay button.

After that, it will open another page, you enter your email, select your bank and continue, then it will popup two window (that's why you must disable popup blocker).

You should have 3 windows by now, One is the ptptn webpage, one is the fpx webpage, another one is your internet banking webpage. Make sure you NEVER CLOSE ANY OF THESE WINDOWS.

In the internet banking webpage, you login using your internet banking password, request a TAC, verify the amount to pay, and click the submit button to make payment. And then you wait.

Now is the critical moment, NEVER CLOSE THE THREE WINDOWS until you see the receipt in the ptptn webpage, or your statement will not be updated. However if you accidentally closed it or any error happened during this stage also nevermind, just wait for few weeks, the statement will be updated also, that is from my experience.

I opened a Basic Savings Account in Public Bank last year.

Then I pay for PTPTN through PBB online banking WITHOUT SERVICE CHARGE since then. rclxm9.gif

I guess other types of savings account of PBB do have service charge of RM0.50 for paying PTPTN through online banking.

So far, I'm paying every 3 months in advance (each time before mid of the month coz they usually charge the admin fee on 16th or 17th of each month) to save for the PTPTN admin charges.

Hope this can help u to reduce ur extra charges. smile.gif

goolie, what I meant was they usually charge the admin fees on 16th or 17th of each month on top of your total remaining debt (you can observe this from your PTPTN statement). So, if you pay earlier than 16th, you still need to pay the admin fees, but it is a bit less compared to if you pay after they charged you on 16th of the month. Well, I know it is very small difference but I'm very particular about it. tongue.gif

PBB has several types of savings accounts:

1) WISE Savings Account
2) PLUS Savings Account
3) 50 Plus Savings Account
4) PB SaveLink Account
5) Basic Savings Account

I'm using the last one (Basic Savings Account) for paying PTPTN without service charge. You may refer to PBB website for more information. smile.gif

It's because we opened different type of savings account. Basic Savings Account can enjoy RM0.50/ online transaction for first 2 online transaction in a month. However, I'm paying PTPTN under Bill Payment. smile.gif

I don't think you are able to switch account unless u close your current one and open a new one.

FYI, for PBB, each person can only open an account for each type of savings account at each branch.

They should have sent you a table consisting the amount you need to pay for each month as well as the duration of pay back, after your last semester.

You should have been aware of the duration to pay back for the loan when u signed the agreement.

You may use the calculator on the PTPTN website to calculate the total amount you need to pay back each month based on your pay back duration. smile.gif

So far, I only discover Basic Savings Account can pay PTPTN without service charge. Shared with my friends and they did the same.

Check your account book. Your account type is stated there. As usual, I paid with pbe this month. I checked the PTPTN website the next day and my PTPTN statement was updated! thumbup.gif Last time, it took one week to update.

I started to pay back PTPTN since Jan 2006, all with online banking. So far, my PTPTN account always get updated within 1 week. So, to me, online banking is the easiest and trusted method. smile.gif

Pay 1 shot , dont need to feel owing the government anything and save between 10-20%

But I do know some companies can assist to deduct your salary and pay directly to PTPTN.
