- Line 6 Monkey is a software to check for any updates for your other Line 6 softwares... You can purchase the Metal Pack and softwares too... - Line 6 Edit is for editing your patches and uploading patches into your XTL... Very convenient... Many users have problems with Line 6 Edit because of their Java script, just install an older version of Java... IIRC, Gearbox can edit/upload patches too... - You'll need to set your XTL as your soundcard, so it will use the USB port to record instead of its outputs... This is applicable to all other recording softwares, you'll need to fiddle around with the settings though: use Line 6 Monkey to search for the newest drivers and install them, then choose XTL as the input of your track in your recording software... - Here's one: http://www.4shared.com/account/dir/2255471...ing.html?rnd=59It's the file "tread"; Not Slash though, it's a high gain metal lead sound...
