QUOTE(idope @ Mar 3 2009, 07:24 PM) ok, Just dropping by to say hi about streamyx connection, how bad is it until now? the new isp..WImax or something in Klang valley area..is they provide better services? Streamyx was suffering from technical problems sometime end of last month and is quickly recovering(well they said they'll fully recover by 5th March etc etc). However, downtimes are still frequent and usually happened from 7pm - 2:30am (note: time is NOT official from streamyx, just my own observations). However, these few days had been good. For anyone who's interested, I've setup a small POS in a stationless system in Domain for mining purposes this month. Anyone here are welcome to join me to mine there (I'll provide freighter hauling to nearby station etc). Feel free to eve-mail me ingame (SiKong Ma). Have fun and welcome to the world of internet spaceships! |

QUOTE(telurmasin @ Mar 4 2009, 12:24 PM) guys, That's pretty much old news by now. Story was that ont of the most powerful alliance, Band of Brothers (BoB) got itself disbanded due to a disgruntled director deciding to defect to Goonswarm (GS) by kicking out all the member corps and with GS creating a corp called Band of Brothers and thus taking over the name. Basically, the people who were in BoB are still there.. they just got their alliance name stolen.i just heard a major big alliance was broken up.... n now space are in chaos and turmoil... disorder everywhere.. and.... lots of people subscribing eve Here Eve Online Scandal However, by losing the alliance, they also lost their hold on what was BoB sovereign (space) and gotta hold the space without jumpbridge network and cynojammers. This opened the opportunity for other alliances to take their space/stations/moons and thus the chaos now. If you were playing eve before.. now's a good time to come back, but if you're new, alliance politics probably wouldn't affect you until much later. Be that as it may, the coming expansion "EVE: Apochripha" will open up worm holes leading into over 2500 new solar systems some with their own physical properties (slowing down your ship, disrupting your lasers etc) and thus allows you to utilize your knowledge of "terrain" for combat. It is also free from "local" and entrance to all of the 2500 systems are random, thus disallowing alliances to "gatecamp" and open the opportunity for exploration and random encounters. Thus, it's pretty much the new era of EVE from 10th March onwards. Good time to join us |

Well, for new people who are considering a career of being a pod pilot, there are 2 choices and time is pretty much limited. Here are as follows:
1) Start a character NOW and get 800K start up skill points, uber stats (which you can restat later every 6 months). 2) Start a character after March 10th, get crappy skill points but 100% faster training time up to 1.6 mils skill points and get to restat twice for free. The choice is yours |

QUOTE(telurmasin @ Mar 4 2009, 01:18 PM) Well it's like this, if you create a character now, your character will start with 800,000 skill points on various preset skills. You will be able to restat your attributes (cha/perc/int/mem/will) once every 6 months. Note that currently, creating Caldari->Achura->Inventor allows super stats that gives you lowest cha and high int/perc combination. Now, in apochripha (march 10th), new characters will come with very low SP (probably 0??), and standard 8/8/8/8/7 stats that you can redistribute twice for free (irregardless of time). You will have faster training time (old characters might train at 1650 sp/min while post apochripha chars will train at 3300 sp/min) until you hit 1.6 million SP mark. |

QUOTE(telurmasin @ Mar 4 2009, 01:30 PM) owh.... understood.... so basically, if i want to learn fast, go to this Caldari->Achura->Inventor char la? and before 10th March. Not really. Okay, say you want a prebuilt char, go for that Caldari->Achura->Inventor and put all your stats on int and perc and choose your profession based on what you want to be... i.e. research alts with research at lvl 5 (6 slots)But say, if you want to complete your learning skills to 5/4 ASAP (basic lvl 5, advance lvl 4), then go for a char after apochripha. Put all stats on Mem/Int, train all your basics to lvl 4, then advance to lvl 2-3, then basic to lvl 5, advance for int/mem to lvl 4, take a break and train some tanking/fitting skills, THEN restat for perc/will and up your advance for per/will to lvl 4 and train weapons + spaceship command skills. Kinda hard to explain here, seek me out ingame and I can explain better |

SERVICE INTERRUPTION Dear Valued Customers, Telekom Malaysia Berhad wishes to announce that there is a disruption of its Internet services due to circuit faults on the SMW3 between Tuas, Singapore and Penang linking Malaysia to Hong Kong and APCN2 near Chongming, China connecting Malaysia to the United States. As a result, customers using the Internet services may experience slow browsing while accessing websites hosted in the U.S. and Hong Kong. In addition, customers using other IP services such as Virtual Private Network (VPN) and other critical business applications linked to the U.S. and Hong Kong may also experience some service degradation. To alleviate the problem, some of the links have been rerouted to alternate routes to ease the congestion. Restoration works on the affected cables are already in progress. However, during the restoration process, traffic to Northern America and Hong Kong may experience degradation. However, traffic to other countries will not be affected. TM expects complete recovery of its services by 5 April 2009 and will make further announcements on the progress of the restoration works. TM wishes to assure its customers that it is undertaking all necessary measures to restore communications services for its customers as soon as possible. Customers can call TM at 100 and select “Internet Services” or e-mail us at help@tm.com.my for any Internet related problems. Thank You. ***************** Taken directly out of streamyx site. Mission runners, you have been warned |

Not sure if it's my DNS but I think you've different IP than ours. The IP starting with "60." always gets the stuff up
Anyway, TM says we'll have to wait till 5th April... luckily Apochrypha enabled skill queue |

You're wrong on both accounts, the servers are located at... London
On another note, does anyone know if TM actually sells bandwidth to other ISP? |

Don't give up your subs. Consider this, in other game, you gotta grind to level and losing 5-14 days of grinding will make it tough for you to catch up with your guild mates. In eve, it's all on auto, so losing 5-14 days of playtime won't set you very far off from your corpies.
Wonder how WoW players fare with this ISP problem |
