rm6k is quite small in ammount to start a real business.just a suggestion, in my oppinion the easiest way to make money by small starting money is in food/drinks. open up a stall in pasar malam can be a good start.

sure you can do business with rm6k. as long as there is a will. i agree with small start in food business.

i read an article, a women, her major income is baking hari raya cookies only. she and her workers only start baking cookies few months before hari raya and she said she live a good life. she started small with no help. of course you must start small and single handle it yourself first, but after few years, if you put in a lot of effort and determination, it will grow.

you have any special interest or talent in cooking? sewing? baking? put it in good use!

My suggestion is for you to is to:

1.) get a job, get relevant working experience
2.) take night classes to upgrade your education foundation
3.) build up your savings to be able to run the business expenses + your living expenses (including family expenses) for at least 6 months

then consider starting up a business. Without a firm foundation, you will lose all your money and be worse off than you started.

for once I agree with nicholas, doing business with a life savings of 10k is TOO risky. be secure, get a job and save as much as you can and put it in safe place such as asb or asn. get 2 jobs a day if you can.

My elder brother has been thinkin of moving away and building a business for a living, tell you what, he made the decision to earn up to at least 20K then move out. He has about 60K now in FD, he changed his mind about starting a business, he now believes that saving enough is really ENOUGH.. LOL

yea. can also get a better job, then you have higher salary, than u buy bigger car, upgrade yr credit cards, you have more debts. you reluctant to stop working to take any risk associated with business or reluctant to start at zero again

i disagree without qualification you loose all your money. no offense man. most rich people pay smart degree holders to do works for them is only spm or college drop outs. to do business, find something that you can tolerate the risk with, dont trust money matters to anyone.

what differentiate people who do business and those who work for paycheck is the willingness to take risk. more risk, more money rule. some just prefer to be in comfort safe zone. it is two different roads altogether

Let it be known here that I started my first business on 21 May 1996, just after my GCE O Levels. I made over half a million SGD in revenue within the 2nd year and nearly went bankrupt the following year. And for the record, I was a GCE N level student, dropped out of Polytechnic after 1 year before finishing my diploma in another polytechnic 3 years later, so do not associate me with some experience-less university graduate.

I speak from experience, both from my own and from the various startups that I look after and invest in these days that a fundamental education and life/work experience is absolutely essential to business success. If you expect a baby to write you an essay in quantum physics, can it? Or ask a person who never rode a motorbike to ride a Hayabusa at Sepang? It all takes baby steps to succeed in business and life.

Taking CALCULATED risk is the key, not stupid risks for the sake of taking them by doing business when 1.) you have no experience and 2.) you hardly have enough capital to start.

You can apply for a job in Singapore. The pay there is better and when you bring back your money it is 2.25X bigger!
I have seen factory buses fetching workers all the way form Kulai, Senai and Skudai!!
Then start saving like mad to build up your capital.

rm6K is really hard to start a bussinness... it is okay, but you have to be very careful, just in case you fail a bit and lose profit, you cant make any turnover.... this is why manym people fail in business.... lack of supporting model

Here is what I will do.

I'll find a job during the day- anything!!! and at night I'll be an entrepreneur! it will be the hardest thing you have ever done with so little sleep & no social life.

I have seen people start with nothing - u just need to build your relationship and have the integrity in doing honest business. If you are honest in doing your business, suppliers are willing to give you credit terms but please always pay promptly. So that's how you do business with nothing...

Another rule is be prudent - dont make $100,000 and spend $200,000...

What Lingeriehouse said is true - when I was a graduate, I made a lot working with an MNC but I also spent it all buying things I didn't really need - e.g. bigger car - basically I spend more than I earn thanks to our generous banks. Years later ... all these worldly things doesn't matter to me anymore - as long as I m happy and debt less smile.gif, I am fine even if you guys have the most canggih pda and mine is still on the green screen... heh..

There are no sure way of succeeding in life but we could always practise calculated risk before jumping into something. But once it has been thought through, let nothing stop you.

My one cent.

Becoming a Unit Trust Agent is oso like setting up your own business...

No need degree...just minimum SPM..

Most important thing is you must have the enthusiasm to learn about financial stuff and also to have the heart to succeed and serve your clients
