Why would you want to do that? They don't ship to Malaysia. And even if they do, with the shipping & insurance you have to pay to deliver to Malaysia, you might as well buy one here.

Where it ex- ?Also, if ship from outside MY, subject to MY Customs tax & duties. Also, is it FOB ? Not retail locally ? |

i guess it'll be a lot cheaper if you ask a friend to buy it from the states and bring it back for you. providing that he doesn't get taxed.
Also in the states, when you purchase a product there will be tax implied on the product according to which state you are from, like for example California is about 8% tax if i'm not mistakened, not too sure about that. i have considered asking a friend to buy it from me from the states, but after finding out how much hasel yuo have to go through, i jsut got mine from Malaysia. Furthermore, in Malaysia, no doubt apple has international Warranty but 'sometimes' if you were to send it to a shop to help you fix this and that, there might be a small service charge impled as well. (unless if you send it to apple malasyai directly, don't quote me on this) so might as well you buy it here lor, save all the trouble, at least you know when yuo have problems with your mac, you can settle it all and all in Malaysia itself what do the rest think? |

If you have any hardware problems with your Mac, your first stop should be the Apple Malaysia's Gold Service Centers eg. VR Tech, not the shop you buy it from which in most cases don't do a very good job of supporting the customers to begin with.Otherwise, ya, the cost differential is not much and in most cases, not worth it unless you're buying an iPod. For example, the Macbook Air is RM6299 retail here, and costs around $1799 + 5-8% sales tax retail in the US too. |
