well, i heard it from a fren of mine....

1. he said the cam is bad.... (maybe becoz of the small lense)
2. battery life.... (i suppose its due to brutal usage on touch screen) whistling.gif whistling.gif
3. limited 3rd part application.... (well uiq 3 is way behind s60 in this)

so, wat u guys think? would the be an improvement by SE? sad.gif sad.gif

Davidmak....
u seems to noe a lot about SE platform.... u work for them or sumthing? tongue.gif tongue.gif

u said u run numerous applications on it...
then i still hav few questions to ask....
1. does the fone get "warm"?
2. how is the battery life under for heavy users?
3. is there any film protector for this fone? i seen 1 4 k850 (not lens cover), just not too sure abt this fone... rclxub.gif
*its like a screen protector, oni the difference is that u put this 1 one the lense instead of the lcd screen* whistling.gif

hope to hear from u soon..... aka sum1 affiliate to SE company brows.gif

The original authorized units will hit stores on the 1st of July 2008. Got this information from the stores in Mid Valley today.

The WIFI is good for my unit. I don't know why others are not getting as good. I guess must be some other problem. Sometimes it is slow to respond, but not really hang. Maybe that gave users the wrong impression that it is hanged. Anyway we need more information from these users. Information too vague because they only mention hang, but not how or what they were doing during the time of hanging.
*
oh.. ok. thnx 4 the info rclxms.gif rclxms.gif
since this is the case, i might as well wait for SE to release a better firmware to fix the wifi problem for this fone....
might as well get it after c905 launch.... that would be a couple of mths from now. It ShOuLd be cheaper by then brows.gif brows.gif
lets keep our finger crossed and hope 4 the best.... whistling.gif whistling.gif

btw, can any1 comment on the camera quality (n also the touch focus)...
i mean, how many "focus point" u can touch b4 hitting the shutter key. icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

The touch focus is only a software feature. In this feature, you touch anywhere on the screen and the camera will autofocus to the area you touch. This augments the default center focus point where you have to focus the center point to an object then reframe (while still holding the shutter) and then take the picture. With the touch focus, you just frame and then touch the area you want to focus on. Easy.

The camera takes good photo provided there is enough light. The downside is the blur. It is very prone to camera shake. A slight shake will ruin the picture. The problem is the shutter button is very hard to press and this shakes the camera every time you tries to press it.
*
blur due to handshake?
i thought the fone hav image stabiliser? rclxub.gif rclxub.gif
i suppose its just marketing gimmick then.... sad.gif sad.gif

then again, does it hav bestpic? coz most site didn't really mention abt this feature... hmm.gif hmm.gif

the G900 actually has a pretty good 5mp cam.
i believe one of the reasons why some G900 users claimed to have taken crappy pics is because of the camera button like what davidmak had pointed out.
anyway, u dont actually have to press on the camera button when u wanna snap pics. all u have to do is just click on the place u wanna focus and just hold it for a few seconds for the cam to snap.
*
really? rclxms.gif rclxms.gif
that is a good thing to hear as im planning to get 1 when ori units hit the stores brows.gif brows.gif
so, far in cheapest ap that i found in lyn is 1391.... whistling.gif whistling.gif
sounds very tempting indeed...

how is the AP quality differs with the ORI units?
*aside from warranty issues* hmm.gif hmm.gif

oh... ok. thnx 4 the info rclxms.gif rclxms.gif
becoz, based on my experience....
i had played with my ori w800 n my fren ap w800, w580 n k550.
it seems that the ap units if some what "heavier" n have poor built quality... (maybe its only me)
i dun noe abt the software part though... hmm.gif hmm.gif
my fren w580 hav this cracking sliding sound... making it sounds like it lack of oil or sumthing....
that really freak me out at ap built quality....
that is y i'd feel better stick to original. though it might be just that unit is faulty.

anyway, does the fone come with chinese input? i heard it doesn't hav it wink.gif wink.gif

the black G900 i saw in subang parade at RM1700 was Original,....I saw the THORUS hologram on the
battery compartment... (the handphone shop told me...they have not sell any yet....stock just arrive )

if AP (G900) for only RM1400 full package....is definetly worth buying AP set !!!

(anyway, that handphone shop recommends me to buy N82...which is only RM1500 for AP  set....
but I don't really like Nokia...don't know why lah.........)  whistling.gif
*
RM1700 4 ori? sad.gif sad.gif
thats RM400++ differences of ap unit.... the cheapest i found so far is RM1370 for ap. Full package summore sad.gif sad.gif
Looks like i'll opt the ap units then doh.gif doh.gif

btw, can any1 enlighten me abt which ap company is good? best? for after sales service... icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

I have had good experience with COMSAT before. They have 1 year warranty on the LCD screen too. Handset is more than one year and 3-6 months for other accessories. I have heard good things about CSL too but I am not sure if they do carry this model.

ori G900 is RM1.5k++ (with free bluetooth headset)

while AP G900 is around RM1.4k++

definitely more worthy to go for ori, imo.
*

coz the i've check in shops.... abt 1.7k
while in lyn..... most of them still dun hav ori.....

cool!!
google map works on this fone? i tot only on s60....
meaning, we would only need internet line? although no built in gps chipset?
that would solve the gps issues brows.gif brows.gif
although no turn by turn or voice assisted navigation, but at least there is a simple gps fuction rite? brows.gif brows.gif

Still doubt whether i should get this or samsung g810 as sammy's fone spec is way more promising than this..... price is not a matter, as its a company fone.... tongue.gif tongue.gif
but touchscreen is addicitve.... biggrin.gif
guys, any help?
