You can start with uiq.com, there are a few standard themes which is quite eye-catching, particularly the Red Chillies theme which is actually a smoke art photography.

The G900 is living proof that even a sole speaker can sound very well.
*
Yes agreed. Thats why it has a large speaker diaphragm which helps a lot. Also the THD is quite low which results in more natural sound. So far the only stereo setups I like is N95/8GB. Very clear.

Finally found some time to install the software.  I have the same problem with my previous W850 when installing the PC Suite, somehow my connected phone is not detected.  I have the same prob again last nite.  realli fuming ler... oni after i un-installa nd re-install the PC Suite i manage to get both file transfer and phone mode to work.
*
Yeah thats a total nut job from Sony Ericsson's part. It works fine on some PCs and not with the other. It won't detect. Until I found out the item in device manager named G900. Right click it and then you should see that it is disabled. Enabling it, will trigger the appropriate detection. However, it doesn't always work that way on other PCs. So yeah, I am fuming too.

It should work out of the box, not like I had to such and such of a procedure in order to get it to work. Not only G900 got this problem, even other models too. Windows would detect the phone's GSM modem, not the PC connection. Thats why a lot of SE users have migrated to SEPhoneExplorer which is an excellent piece of software. However, it doesn't support UIQ phones yet at the moment.

today pondering to get the wireless bluetooth or wired stereo headset.  the default is earpiece is not "stylo" la... HBH-DS980 sell for $152 (offer price).  me staring @ another empty wallet soon.
*
It depends on how you will be using it for. If you want convenience just for the sake of communication, then a bluetooth serves the purpose well not to mention the style it provides. If you want good sound quality as well as using the radio function, you'll need a good wired stereo headset. I would choose SE's finest wired earphones costing around RM300 complete with remote commander.

you try the wireless stereo bluetooth before?  how's the quality.  I was using W850i and the default earpiece is good enough for me.  Radio is not too important to me.

I just don't want to buy a wireless then regret about the sound quality.  These wireless thing, most shop don't allow testing, unlike the phone.  All wrap in boxes nicely.
*
Yeah, I tried the bundled HBH-PV708 bluetooth headset. Sound quality is not remarkable. Usable only. I guess you need to buy higher end models to have good voice quality. Even the music playback is worse. No amplification and the playback sound muted. The W850's default earpiece is good because it is a in-ear configuration. But it is too boomy.

You can always try your friend's one before buying. Oooh! I remember, Cliptech (I think this is the name) is popular for bluetooth handsfree but utilizing earpiece. It consist of a bluetooth transceiver main body with the mic integrated. Then it provides a 3.5mm earphone jack for connecting to the earpiece of one that you prefer. That way you can have both wireless freedom and not sacrifice on music quality.

Thank you for ur reply guys..  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif this makes me wanna buy G900 more.. still considering though.. what do u guys think? should i go for G900 or should i wait for C905  tongue.gif thanks again  smile.gif

If you want good imaging, then G900 is not good enough. It is decent in my opinion. But the color rendering is not accurate enough unless you practice post-processing using PC software. The C905 would be highly anticipated in my opinion.

Maybe i'll go for this one and then C905 later..  tongue.gif i really desperate to change phone.. sick of K850i already.. one more thing.. is the touch sensitive button oki???  sweat.gif
*
The touch screen sensitivity is good enough. Not too sensitive and still responsive. I like screen very much. It is a transflective display so legibility in the sun is still good without loosing too much color contrast. If you diligently study the screen surface, you'll see that it has an angled ribs all over it. That is to protect the screen. As a result, the screen is not like those PDA phones soft type. Its hard and feels like glass.

As a result, it'll respond to touches from the stylus, finger nails and fingers.

a c2pid Q to ask here.

the G900 runs on Symbian 9.1 with UIQ 3.0.  when i search for application, do i search for Symbian 9.1 or UIQ 3.0 apps?
*
Well actually the G900's OS is based on Symbian 9.1. However, that is just the kernel and the interface however is UIQ3.0. So when looking for applications and games, you should look for UIQ3.0 compatible apps.

So far my one has been running on the new sandisk m2 4GB, nope not a problem at all. Smooth operation

The sales person did advise me if i go beyong that like 8GB, the problem is only might be slower in response time cause of the huge amount of data in the memory card trying to be read by the phone software.

But i think when 16GB becomes a norm for phones, a software update might just do the trick in the near future.
*
Actually the capacity problem does not result in the phone becoming unresponsive. You may have an 8GB memory card but if you're not filling it up yet or nowhere near the limit there is no such thing as a huge amount of data in memory. After all these are flash memory which is persistent. No power is required to hold them and you don't move and shift these data the entire 8GB block at the same time. Chances are you access the data the same you would do for any other smaller capacity cards.

The problem comes from the resources required for the huge amount of addressing in a high capacity card. Depending on the hardware platform, it may not be game enough to handle such requirements. Especially those 16bit processors that is inefficient and require multiple clock cycles to complete one instruction. This is where the slowing down will happen.

New phones or technically newer platforms with new MCUs should have solved this problem. Look at iphone 8GB, 16GB and even 32GB. Look at Touch Diamond and Omnia. Although these are built in, they are basically the equivalent of flash memory ICs.

Just want to get this problem cleared.

Hey guys..i'm planning getting this phone soon,so can you recommend me good shop(level & the name of the shop) at low yat that sell this phone coz i don't know what shop i can rely on...thx happy.gif
*
Just do a search around level 1 and go for the best offer (good price and good accessories). Any shop will do but only get from reputable AP distributors (if you plan to go AP) or just make sure you're getting from the appropriate authorize distributor (if you plan to go original).

yup yup, it's AP. AP company from CS. 15 months warranty for phone, 12 months for LCD.

And one more thing, I've been putting the brightness to 30% but my G900 still suck alot of battery. Is it becoz the first time I charge wasn't fulfill the 8 hrs requirement? or is there such requirement? I think with medium usage the phone can't last for one whole day. Providing I always close all the programs in task manager after I've used it. Will it be improvement in future? if like that G900 battery really isn't good.
*
Its ok one. It'll take a few rounds before it can achieve optimum performance. On the other hand it all depends how extensively you use your phone.
