Is it possible to do a search on a car no. plate on JPJ online? My friend said he has done it before but it only comes out with the owner's name. That's all i need to find out really. Is it possible?

U meant "Summonse Search"?

Previously, by key-in only number plate is enough, now must key-in IC No.

Nope.. You still can check by filling a form at JPJ and pass it up to the jpj officer...

Sorry for thread necromancing. I want to know if we can still ask the JPJ for car details that knocked another car and run?

Depending on the purpose of getting the car details, I'd suggest lodging a police report first. I'd assume the police will sort out the "hit and run" criminal car details for identification.
