Getting a replacement is next to impossible unless salvage from another defective part.. then there's the desoldering involved... and dust prevention.

Even service centres don't do these component level repairs.

true, getting a replacement is difficult. but installing it is not impossible. service centers just want the easy way out which is to replace the whole lcd. and yes, they probably dont do component level repairs but it doesnt mean that it cannot be done

possible to change the LCD CCFL, if laptop it hv 1 or 2 very thin CCFL under or at any of the edge of the LCD, normally under the LCD and the length is only few CM shorter than the LCD length, u need to find the right length and right size to fit in.

u need to dissemble the LCD part and find the CCFL(it is very thin like less than 3mm in diameter, it means FRAGILE!! the CCFL cost about RM50, not very sure about the price, then u need to take out the old CCFL and replace with the new one, u need to do some wiring on the new CCFL and some soldering, pretty hard need some time and cost to do it.
