can update.. there are ways..
put it this way, if u want a new phone, if u already have the money, just get it.. features are not to par as another phone priced the same but i guarantee u that u won't have the same experience as u have with the iphone.. the touch interface is really revolutionary.. no other phone in the market can do what the iphone can.. if u want it, if u can afford it, by all means, get an iphone |

It will be easier to deal with warranty and any issues arising from the iPhone usage. It is also a far better way for the not-so-tech-savvy to get an iPhone this way, as they don't have to meddle with unlocking procedures and the hassles encountered while doing restore.and for the adventurous ones, we still can get this iPhones without being tied to the contract first. Yup, if it is introduced here the same way as the other countries that Apple has brought the iPhone before. but if we are forced to do it (yeah who knows?) we still can do a contract termination. But of course if it is as the same way as the US, the contract termination fee will be superduper crazy. mmm...i'm just hoping that it comes here without contract. or at least country-locked. |

I don't really think that Apple will offer the iPhone in Malaysia.
As I know currently the discussion between Apple and APAC telco providers are AIS (Thailand i.e. parent company is Singtel), Singtel (Singapore) and Optus (Australia i.e. also owned by Singtel). |

Hopefully got friend travel to US and bring back... |

Only after that, they can easily create the software around thee iPhone framework. just wait a little and then u can see the iPhone also being a PDA.as for now, no official software is written yet. a little waiting won't kill rite? |

There are a few things you should consider before buying an iPhone now:
1. There is only 1 week's warranty for iPhones purchased in Malaysia. 2. You are being one of the pioneers, thus lacking mature technical support unlike the other conventional PDA phones. 3. There are many limitations in terms of compatibility between iPhone and Windows OS, unless you are using an apple machine. 4. There is a possibility that the 3G version will be announced this year. 5. It's darn expensive. LOL. Otherwise, iPhone is a great phone to own. |

Iphone is not a pda phone but the GUI is much better than any pda phone that i have/had and these go back to the days of Palm Pilots, O2 minis and the Dopods to my latest one, the Tytn II. My Tytn II is strictly for my office line with email, contacts and appointments as neccessity. My iphone on the other hand is my personal phone, and is taking much more of my time now, still fascinated by its GUI and touch usage.

QUOTE(dannytzh @ Feb 12 2008, 10:49 AM) There are a few things you should consider before buying an iPhone now: 1. Don't really think that we got the warranty. some provide it, some not. It is not a real warranty afterall. Depends on the seller.1. 4. Oww...if it's about the restore and unlock, y not opt for ZiPhone, the most idiot-proof way ever. 3. Syncing support of contacts, emails, and calendars with Outlook is there. Your browsing favourites can also being synced with either using Safari for Windows or IE. What's more to ask about Windows compatibility? Oww...btw u can sync media files on iTunes. 4. Maybe yes, maybe not. a higher capacity of iPhone has been announced. so that means it is a very small timeframe then for this iPhone if Apple wanna introduce 3G iPhone this year. But yeah the probability is still there for 3G version this year, as from what is speculated around Asia release. 5. Yeah i agree, totally superduper expensive. But considering u r buying an iPhone at average price of RM2xxx here, it is still whole lot cheaper than some average decent-performance Windows Mobile smartphones in the market. We are not comparing iPhone with Nokia Daun, hell no! But the reason that maybe we wanna consider is that the readiness of user to this gadget. maybe it sports the iPod player inside it that makes it doesn't look appropriate for serious business use for business minded. also about skepticism on Apple products on which they said that it is not totally compatible with its Windows counterpart. mmm...anyway it's better for the interested to see first on the iPhone and look for what they are looking for, or what they need. that's the only way. hehehe...btw i'm not an iPhone seller. |

QUOTE(=Hanxz= @ Feb 13 2008, 12:25 AM) Er nope, I NEVER like MAC...Tried them, no go... However, I like Apple's portable gadgets...Simply the best! I bought the ipod 5.5 for my gf, geez I'm the one who fall in love instead... Just wanna ask, compare to Windows Mobile, iphone's OSX is closer to a desktop OS right? Definitely my next phone no matter how. Ask my friend in US bring me one for RM17xx including shipping (hopefully won't kena tax)... BTW, I've seen some iphone sample photo including the photo I took while playing my uncle's iphone, it's the one of the best 2MP phone camera I've seen up to date (exclude the comparison of flash and AF please). Particulary the noise is quite low for a camera phone. This post has been edited by pigcat: Feb 13 2008, 12:54 AM |
