You may have a case of a damaged iTunesMobileDevice.dll. Uninstall your current iTunes 7.6, then delete this folders below :

C:\Program Files\iTunes
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple

Reboot, then reinstall iTunes 7.6. Make sure you run the setup file as an administrator if it's not already doing so on default. Hopefully this'll fix your problem, just my opinion wink.gif

heard bout diz problem in early days of Vista. Also heard that diz problem has been resolved after download fix from Windows update.

in some cases, early version of Vista corrupts some system files in iPod after clicking on 'Safely Remove Hardware' icon on taskbar. And it renders the iPod not usable under iTunes until doing a firmware restore.

so lucky for you that it only asks for driver. so maybe u need to uninstall iTunes, doing some cleanup as mentioned by Samanoske Akechi and then reinstall iTunes back.

So for anyone that just have bought a new unit of PC or lappie preinstalled with Vista, it's safer to do the Windows Update first before install iTunes.

Thanks for the add-on, Laskar smile.gif Anyways, have you tried resolving the problem yet, moniqee? As far as the iPod-Vista interaction is concerned, the solutions given above should rectify it
