I don't want to be dragged into this discussion but I've found that your statement of the disc itself is 14" being totally wrong, unless of course if you are driving a Ferrari or so.

In Proton specifications, when they mention that the brake disc is 14", they mean that it fits 14in rims. If Proton specs is 14" and it does not fit an actual 14" rim (in this case, a 14" steel rim, not alloy), then Proton specs are wrong.

Do keep in mind that a 14" steel rim has a little more clearance than a 14" alloy.

14"= 355.6mm.. if I remember correctly, the Neo's front disc size should be in the region of 276mm or there abouts but definitely smaller than 300mm and way smaller than not 355mm.

276mm disc size is about the max a 14inch wheel can fit. Putras came stock with 14inch rims from Proton with 276mm front disc and that was a already tight squeeze.

Now I'm just thinking back.. actually the Putra had 266mm brake disc, not 276mm. I got that mixed up with the VR4/EVO twin pots at 276mm.
