i just want to know how many independent records label in malaysia. how many band/artist their have.

this is the new recording label. made by most popular ska punk band. they are from johore. their recording label is nyaring. and the artist that they have is 2. Plague of happiness and Full pledge munkees. u can visit their website at http://www.nyaring.com/ or www.myspace.com/plagueofhappiness. they are really-2 new. this recording label just made by the end of last year totally D.I.Y or DIE! there are many independent recording label now days. such as clockwork records (a.c.a.b n etc), soda pop record (vixxen n etc), southern rebel records (the liberals n etc), disarm record n many more. u can find them at myspace

yeah... i'm interested start my own label...
maybe with malaysian indie band..

i think a lot of independent label in malaysia. but they dont work together for malaysian music.

how many? quite alot.
setting up a label is easy.
getting distribution is more important.
the known ones usually get distribution via universal music.

yeah.. setting up it's easy..
to find a band for your label.. it;s also hard..
i think distribution for the album or demo.. you need to rajin laa...
sell it to gig or event.. richard branson also do thing like that before virgin become major label..
