recently i just bought a iphone, then is was unlock in kl, cost around RM350
but when i get back to my pc, i thought it can be upgrade to 1.1.3, because i saw in itunes, we still can restore the previous version if we found that it is not suitable.

but now, serious problem face, i'm totally can't use the simcard, and i can restore to previous version too.
is it anybody can help?

i can't find any installer function in the iphone yet.

is it i need speed more money to unlock it again????

ok before u proceed to downgrading, 1st thing u need to know is what bootloader is your iPhone comes with. if u are now using *****SIM thingy to get access to the telco, it's likely that u r using on BL 4.6, which restricts baseband fw (modem firmware) downgrading. But if u can use software unlock on your phone (not depending on *****SIM stuff), then u r ready to go as you are on BL 3.9. this is the easiest method for you to follow in step by step:

Ok, now considering that u r using iTunes 7.6, you can't get restore mode (DFU) easily. u need to use a software kit that consists of iPhuc software + some DFU Release files that may be useful to get it into restore mode. Just google for 1.1.3 downgrade kit. But if you find this method is not that easy u can use a lower version of iTunes.

owww...to get installer into 1.1.2, you need to downgrade to 1.1.1 first, and doing touchfree jailbreak method, install oktoprep, and only after that u upgrade firmware to 1.1.2 and done another jailbreak using a 1.1.2 jailbreak (google for this one).

Added on February 5, 2008, 12:47 ambtw, u can use the same guide if u r on BL 4.6. But it will only get you a jailbroken version, not SIM-unlocked. This is because with that bootloader, the baseband version can only being upgraded but not downgraded. So u still can't access your phone network. Plus, firmware 1.1.3 already knows the trick of this type of *****SIM hack so you can't access network as before.

Or if u wanna try, do a hardware unlock on bootloader. This is totally risky. Or wait for another firmware revision.

Correct Assuming that LaskarCinta's statement matches yor descripton, and you have an 1.1.2 OTB with BL 4.6 phone accidentally updated to 1.1.3, there is no way of downgrading your baseband back to 04.02.13_G unless you attempt the uber-risky H/W bootloader downgrade (no successful attempts in LYN so far...)

However, you CAN still downgrade your firmware to 1.1.1 > 1.1.2 and jailbreak it, leaving you with a very expensive iPod Touch until 1.1.4 is out. All in all, this'll serve as an important lesson to remind you not to update to newer firmwares without first researching the consequences.

Assuming that yours is a 1.1.2 otb... accidentally updated to 1.1.3 with iTunes.
Now we can restore, update using iTunes to 1.1.3 then use Ziphone to
activate, jailbreak and then unlock... all with the same software... easy job...
and... it is FOC. Works really fast too.... a few min will do.

is it? but last time they say my modem firmware can't downgrade, then there have no solution until now

so this problem had been solve?

I should think so.
Should be ok. All versions can be upgraded to 1.1.3 now with iTune, and then unlocked.

comfirmation. Very easy.....
Better get your phone out of that shop before they start charging u for it!

I just 'follow' instructions. Hehehe. I updated my unlocked 1.1.2 otb
using itunes to 1.1.3, so automaticaly, it was locked all again.
needed activation again too!
So, i followed the guide to reactivate, jailbreak n unlock... all
at the same time.... and within a couple of min, all done and
i slot in my maxis card... working..... maybe me lucky lor..
but i did it twice.... both successful.

i read the step in iClarified.com, but i can't find the installer.app in my main menu, is it possible i can follow the step again?

u want the installer to do wat?
u need to activate your phone, jailbreak n unlock it only mah.
in the process, ziphone will include the installer for u.
it'll be there when u're done unlocking your phone.

I am using 1.1.3 iphone. Setting input for wife and edge could not be saved. As a result wifi and edge not working. Please advise member.
