HI, I know nothing about notebooks at all.. All this while I have been using desktop. Im going to buy a powerful desktop mainly for 3d rendering & gaming soon... should cost bout 3k +. And I was thinking to get a light notebook...main usage are:

1. Able to surf net in starbuck, of course.
2. To present work to client (casually)
3. At least able to run Photoshop...and screen size must be comfortable for that.
4. Basic 3d modeling with 3d Max... with some test rendering...(not use for long hours rendering, Basically will like to model 3d with notebook, bring files to desktop for heavy render)
5. Requirement MUST at least better than my current pc:

-pentium 4 2.4ghz
-1gb ram
-Geforce FX5500, 128mb

6. travel as light as possible.. but same time do not sacrifice the screen size.

* Budget Rm 3k Below. The lower the better cause mOney focus on Desktop oredi.


I think my main problem will be ... Compact size/light notebook with large screen? haha possible?

Please suggest any laptop for me HP, DELL, ASUS, SONY (if affordable....will be nice.. I love sony .)

Guys. I need recommendation.

I need a Laptop that can do basic 3d modelling. (some games of course), can use photoshop. Online. has big screen. and budget around 3.5k.

i Went to lowyat today to survey... looks like ALL of them not selling 17" Inspiron.. saying that "who wants it cause it is so big and Heavy..almost 4KG!"

It does make sense.... after i test carry the 14"Inspiron... and find that this size SHOULD be enough for me. So here is what I might get.

What u guys think of this spec? Almost get conned cause A guy on 4th floor quote me RM 3299 for the same model. Is this spec okey for 3dmodelling? and photoshop? Im not too sure bout GEFORCE 8400GS or GT... but d graphic card definately need to be better than my current old pc which uses "FX5500 128mb on pentium 4 2.1ghz, 1gb ram"

I wonder anyone can give me answer for this. WILL 3DMAX9 & PHOTOSHOPCS3 RUN on Windows Vista. Cause if it doesnt run (or not able to support yet) I will have to let go my plan to buy laptop...for meantime.

Can anyone recommend any ppl that might selling this Laptop? Cause the shop in lowyat only sell in RED & YELLOW. I will preferable Mocha BROWN.. or black or white. IT does look ugly already n i just hope to get a slightly preferable colours.

Shall I wait till 1535 release? It says that Inspiron 1535 release 26 May. Will it be possible for it to reach Msia within a week? And will d price as good as the old Inspiron 1520?

So far this is the only one that meet my requirement.
INSPIRON 1520. Should be around rm 3.5k

But i on Hold first...cause looks like New Inspiron 1535 coming out this 26May!! And design are much much better than d current one.. So i bet to wait just a little longer. Resist temptation..
