i'm thinking of getting Dell Vostro 1400 Laptop as the cost seems to be cheaper and weight lesser compare to Dell Inspiron. Any comments?
also should i get the Targus Defcon Combination Cable Lock [+RM 117.00] Dell Recommended or i can get it cheaper elsewhere...
what's the differences between a 65W and a 90W AC Adapter?

QUOTE(karwaidotnet @ May 23 2008, 02:08 AM) i'm thinking of getting Dell Vostro 1400 Laptop as the cost seems to be cheaper and weight lesser compare to Dell Inspiron. Any comments? also should i get the Targus Defcon Combination Cable Lock [+RM 117.00] Dell Recommended or i can get it cheaper elsewhere... what's the differences between a 65W and a 90W AC Adapter? Both Dell Vostro 1400 and Dell Inspiron 1420 are more or less of the same weight (2.5 kg with a 6-cell battery). If you buy a 9-cell battery, it will be 2.9 kg. 90W AC adapter is required for a dedicated GPU option you choose for your Dell laptop. Targus Defcon Lock's price is more or less the same like in the market. But, you can ask for more discount if you buy the lock from the market rather than from Dell. So, it is no need to add the lock option in your Dell specs. I suggest you to allocate the budget to buy the Complete Cover package and the 3-year Warranty service package. Hey guys here, I just don't understand the specs here:
Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T7700 ( 2.4Ghz 4MB L2 Cache 667Mhz FSB )
Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T8100 ( 2.1Ghz 3MB L2 Cache 667Mhz FSB )
Why T8100 is more expensive than T7700? Is it because it is 45nm? But T7700 it is 2.4Ghz and 4MB L2 Cache....

I need a laptop. Please recommend me a:
1. Don't care (toshiba preference) 2. RM7k flexible 3. for work. Not for games. Weight <1kg if possible. Battery life as long as possible >5hrs. Screen size 13 inch or 1024x768 pixels. Must be windows. Don't want the useless macbook air with 1 usb port. Few USB ports and lots of pheripheral connection is good. 4. Small. Not small like those 9" screen monithors. Need proper laptop keyboard to work with.
Previous laptop, a toshiba protege (dont remember) RM10k, ~5yrs ago. Battery life 4hours normal, 900gm with extended get additional 5hours 1.3kgs. Looking for something like that as will carry it a lot.
Thank you

The most important is the design and built quality! This post has been edited by Faith+1: May 24 2008, 12:21 AM
