Sorry should have made it clearer, I want 2 lappys but 1 is for my fren and the other is for me.
The 5-6k 1 is for me and its for me when I work offshore. So yes I travel a lot so 3kgs should be the limit? The cheaper 1   is for my fren, and she's looking into an AMD processor. But is it cheaper to get an AMD than an Intel processor for a lappy?

HP Pavilion dv5-1039TX  @ rm5350 or Sony SR series @ rm4488 + (cost of upgrading ram, it has 1gb stock) ??

the sony SR is cheaper and has better batt life but lacks a good gpu, the dv5 is more expensive but the specs are spot on for me but has some heating issues or so i've heard..

which should i choose ?

Brand: HP / Sony Vaio (might consider other brands if it has nice design)
Budget: ~5k
Spec: powerful and able to suppose most and upcoming games.
Extras: I think the design of the lappie is one of the aspects for me. For example, Sony has good lappies but their design is kinda boring and dull. Somewhat like Hp's design, blue light quick-launch buttions, 180 degress screen etc etc.

can i ask if i buy online from dell a laptop for rm2k using 0%installment
than did they charge anything more than the 2k?

Kindly need some assistance here. Am asking behalf for my friend.

Budget: 2500 RM (Max.)
Brand: Acer, Compaq and Dell (others can do also, i can't think of any at the moment)
Specs: Processor - 2.0Ghz Dual Core & Above, 1gb ram (at least), 120gb for hard drive
Size: Any size.

Here is a little story:

My friend have a maximum budget of RM 2500 for getting a lappy. But he is wishing for something great so he went on a hunt and he found Acer TravelMate 4720 [reference link >> (http://reviews.cnet.com/laptops/acer-travelmate-4720-core/4505-3121_7-32569142.html)

So, he ask for my opinion whether to buy the lappy or not. Well, from my POV, I think what he found is a 2nd hand laptop. I am not sure either, soooo... I am confirming here. And should he buy that or there is better option. Please leave your professional comment and POV.
