Got a question here too, is there a huge different between Core 2 Duo T9400 and Core 2 Duo T9300, as well as the Nvidia Geforce 9600M GS and 8600M GT?

Please advice,

Millions Thanks.
*
T9400 and T9300 mainly FSB is different, not a huge gap for normal users like us...

9600M GS and 8600M GT is very different... 1 is a 55nm GPU (9600) and the other is the other 80nm GPU...

well, the one that's got problem is S41... 8600M GS...

so far haven't heard any problem with the Geforce 9M GPU...

and with the Hybrid Graphic Engine of S42, should help to prolong the life of the GPU as well...

hey guys, just surfing around here and just so happens to see this thread, and im going abroad  to further my studies.
The problem is, i cant find any branded named lappy that can satisfied my gaming experience, and since its a pain to bring my 4KG PC along with me, im selling my pc to a cousin of mine.
just started to survey Asus brand since they came out with their G70s, but after looking the price tag, i was abit shocked, but i can afford it, only thing is i cant find any similar lappy that has the spec that i wanted. And from my siggy you can tell im abit extreme about gaming

so my question is, what do you think of the G70s and if you can compare it with a more reliable brand such as Acer or HP, which would you choose for a gaming lappy? i dont have much knowledge about lappy and i hope you guys can show me the right path to aid my search

to me personally HP lappy are abit overpriced then what they should be. ><"
*
well, the main advantage of Asus is standard 2 yrs int'l warranty... more impt than spec if u re bringing it abroad...

main thing is whether the software is supported in OS X...

if yes, then i would say Mac is a good choice for some serious work...

I'm looking for a laptop. I've seen feedbacks on the laptops i've been looking through, and they're kinda terrible.. I'm also kinda fed-up looking through and through websites,so i had to end up here, like a last resort.

1. Brand - I don't know what brand suits me best, it's the reliability.
2. Budget - RM5k<
3. Specs - My aim is to have a laptop that runs smoothly and fast. Preferably a processor more than 2ghz. Good graphics card.might wanna game a little. Screen not too big, preferably something around..15" or less. Slim and light. Good and long battery life. Good set of speakers the laptop comes with. Better also with a OS XP. Trackpad can be used to scroll through pages. Integrated webcam as good as 2MP.

also, pls help me out with other recommendations if the specs above doesn't meet an actual laptop.
thanks so much if you guys could help me out.

BenQ S42...

C2D P8400
GeForce 9600M GT
14" LED monitor, 8ms response time
2.05kg w/o batt
Integrated GMA X4500HD can be used instead of 9600 to save battery

comes with Vista though...

and laptop speakers are never good anyway...

So Gateways and Dells can only be ordered ? Same with the XPS M1730 ?Also can the Asus G50 run games like Warcraft smoothly and has good sound and video systems ?

P/S The Sager has to be ordered too right ?
*
well, to be honest, WC3 and WOW are not very demanding game... at least for me DOTA on an old laptop with integrated graphic (GMA900) no problem also, very smooth...

how abt HP's DV5??? MSI's (i think) GV600 series??? or BenQ S42??? these are decent laptops without a big price tag...

well, these are not the best in terms of gaming, but they have a good balance between performance and portability...

i mean, for laptop mobility is an impt aspect too... else u can juz get a desktop instead...

all 3 ve 1 thing in common: GeForce 9600M GT, which is a pretty decent mobile GC for gaming... u can refer to the GC performance thread... someone posted benchmark of the GC based on BenQ S42

however, i myself prefer S42, as it's a 14" laptop, thus packs quite a lot of power for a relatively small laptop...

I would like to buy a gaming laptop in the coming pc fair.
My budget is ~3k
I saw an Acer Aspire (Blue Gem) selling for 3k, with GeForce 9600 512mb, Blue ray rom, 3g ram, 360 hdd, C2D t5750.
Is it worth buying?
Any better suggestion? Actually i don't like Acer. I prefer Asus but it's expensive.

the CPU is a total rip off....

get at least a C2D P8000s instead...
