Im always wondering actually how am i suppose to upgrade the ram or hdd or any hardware of lappie myself? Open it up myself or wat? Will that void warranty? Anyway, can i call up Dell for the inspiron 1420/1520 to configure something i cant be done online? Say like 1520 with 1gb ram or 1420 with 8600GT? lol This post has been edited by NicJolin: Mar 27 2008, 11:35 PM

i am planning to buy a new CHEAP laptop. budget is <rm2k. the one that caught my eye is this, FUJITSU ESPRIMO(tm) MOBILE V5535. current price is rm1999. here is the link to the specs --> specsany comments on this particular model? i will be using it for regular stuff: internet, college work, multimedia (movies and music) and light gaming. no heavy designing etc. so do you think this model represents best value for money? or if you know of any, please recommend me other notebooks in the sub 2k price range which you think is better. thanks

i need a Laptop
Budget: 3k - 3.5k
purpose(i'll arrange it according to priority of the pupose): i. web surfing, chatting ii. assignment(college works) iii. light gaming
Monitor size: prefer 15" wide, 14" wide also can, but must wide screen
Purchase date: not yet fixed, maybe will get it next week.
Preference: Accer, must intel C2D or AMD(gt dual core?), if i can get it within my budget then a Nvidia Go will be better for me
weight: 1k - 2.8kg is fine, coz this is the weight for a normal laptop.
Other features: i. DVD burner, coz i might need to backup my assignment. ii. bluetooth, for easier file transfer between laptop from others as well as my phone laugh.gif iii. HDD capacities about 120GB or above, 80GB also acceptable
size: medium, not too large, standard size for a 15" wide screen is acceptable.
i think that's all lar.
i hv some questions.
wat is firewire?
is intel C2D more power saving compare to AMD brand? (i means laptop lar)

will 8400GS couple with T7250 be enough for HD watching? Because I mostly watched movies/animes on HDs. Mainly on 720p but occasionally on 1080p. So I need to make sure I can still watch those movies/anime on my laptop. Gaming is not off importance as the only thing I played these days is CS.

I have a few fansubbed anime episodes in HD format. What you need is a widescreen LCD like WXGA and a capable graphics card. But, please bear in mind: it is not a real HD experience, ok.
