This is 1 of the games of 2008 i'm actually looking forward to, based on the beta reviews and previews by various game sites.

From what I read, it's kinda of a hybrid between Homeworld/Homeworld 2 and Galactic Civilization

But the thing is, local distributors do not even list the game yet even though the release is already scheduled for next monday....

Give some thoughts bout this game if you want

well stardock is famous for their galactic civilization series....
so i'm really looking forward to this game, as it's now married to my favorite space rts 10 years back or so in homeworld/homeworld 2
tat 2 games was really revolutionary at that time as it introduced 3d movement system, and had a really got story line to boot

also, reviews said everything in game will happens in real time....
won't want to be caught in a situation where my main fleet is off attacking some planets, then my homeworld kena attack by enemy in the same time...
warping also takes time and is not an instant action

is it possible to ask TSB to bring it in?
seems like they only bring games from major game publishing companies

if this is the case, probably i'll need to resort to internet for it first, then get it if it evers come to malaysia
this game might have online component, but with the scale described, a game itself might be pretty long, especially if many planets are involved

1 of the developer used an even older lappie specs to demo it to the gamers crowd at a convention if not mistaken...
this a is pretty good example of well optimized codes with reasonable graphics

much better than some half-a$$ big name games with great graphics but lots of bugs.

though the lack of an engaging single player campaign story might be turn off to some ppl, unlike homeworld and homeworld 2 which has a great storyline besides the revolutionary game system at tat time

nv regretted paying 44.95+ USD for the online download, though i dun have much time on hand to go play with other players online yet

using molfreedom from eonbank, it's charging as stated by frags

kianweic, u sure bout ur facts or just simply crap out?pls check ur facts before crapping, or at least provide the name of the bank. as i posted in hardware Q & A, if u dunno what u are talking bout, just shut up.

it's not like i purposely want to be rude to ya, but i strongly believe ppl here a social obligation to check ur facts before posting.

reread ur own statement, even competent english reader will interpret it as u are saying bank charges RM3.8 for 1USD

comparing CNN/Fox is not a viable excuse, as it's like saying if they can be wrong, so u can also be wrong. So using ur line of reasoning, it's like saying if ppl can go kill, rape, plunder, any1 can go do it also izzit cos there's other ppl doing it.

bear in mind this is not a personal attack on you, just a strong encouragement to at least double check at u are posting, as perhaps Abu.Umar might not have known the exchange rate when he posted.

QUOTE(idknight @ Feb 23 2008, 11:48 PM)
Indeed, I'm playing this game now. It is truely enjoyable, everything takes a nice pace which isn't too slow. It forces you to think about things from an epic scale and perspectives never before seen in other games.

For example, I was playing a game against the computer and manage to gain the upper hand by always having the bounty on his head higher and thus leaving the pirates to do the dirty work. But eventually the pirates grew rich and powerful, funded by my empire. When they blocked an important route for me I had no choice but to attack them, obliterating my fleet. My opponents took this advantage to attack my outer planets ring planets and my downfall soon followed. Yes I lost, but this is something I never experienced before!

I got the game from a torrent download. Of course it is illegal, but I couldn't stand waiting and plan to get it if and when it is released at the local store. Please support Stardock! Small developers can make good games!

well even if it might be ugly by today game standard, it's justifiable as such reasonable graphic standard, more ppl can play the game, even with old rigs.

true
but then it has no single player campaign
it's kinda like a mmo rts
usually ppl play online with a ori serial key at their server
playing by yourself against AI in a sandbox environment offline is not really fun
