My Imac constantly shutdown by itself. The time range from 5 minutes used up to 1 hour. Not a proper shut down. the screen suddenly blank. No sound whatsoever. When i tried to switch on back, no response. Usually the next day it can be turn back on.
This cycle continues.

Could it be overheating? Maybe your internal fans no longer working. Monitor your temperature.

If you have upgraded and its a KVR Kingston RAM, I'd suggest that you take out the RAM, run on stock and see what happens. If OK, as other posters has noted, check your temperature and especially the ventilation around your Mac. Is it confine like in a bookcase or something that is blocking the airflow especially at the bottom and at the back. Hope that help

Yeah, I suspect overheating here too. Had the same problem with my router, basically having to let it cool down for a period of time before it'll work again. If this is the case, there's definitely an issue with your iMac's internal heat management. Perhaps a faulty fan or a voltage leak.....
