Hey guys..
Im wondering if anyone here played any of the MGS games.
I myself played the 1st (in PS) and 2nd (in PS2)..
I only finished MGS 1 though..
But I like the gameplay of this game, need to solve riddle & puzzles and think out of the box to proceed to the next stage.
Anyone wanna share their experiences in this game?
Any interesting parts? or anything?.. =D

they say mgs 1 got 2 ending, but all i can achieve is the ending with the girl dead..... my finger's not good enuf to click click save the girl...

But what I know is, for MGS 1..
There is some part in the game you have to make a decision..
And the decision will decide what special item you receive in end game.
Either the Bandana(Infinite ammo) or Stealth(Invisible suit)..

However, nvr heard of the girls ending..

I love MGS series,i like the uniqueness of the bosses,hide in the box and the game always felt epic whenever theres intense battle,of course the storyline are great

I definitely scream like a little girl if i can get MGS4 when the game come out.

In the torture chamber is the point where the two stories diverge. Either you fight off the pain or surrender. Either Otacon or Meryl will die

oh, now i remember, the girl is called Meryl. otacon din die for diff ending lah.... it's just if the girl is saved, he will not appear in the ending and escaped. otacon character need to tell snake how to destroy the mecha.

very hard to get the girl ending - finger very pain keep pressing to overcome the torture (like torture me like dat).

Me also only finish the MGS1, MGS2 and MGS3 all play on early stage then stop.

That was easy job la,maybe im used to it already since last time i also race rapid press when playing dragon ball fighting game on snes with my friend.

I would suggest completing MGS2 before u go ahead and play MGS4 cuz MGS4 is the continuation storyline from MGS2. Hope this does not confused u

If youre too lazy to play the game, go to Wikipedia and search for metal gear solid, everything you need to know about the game is there.

if you play the GC remake silicon knights, ocelot stares at the screen and points to u "don't even think about using auto-fire or i'll know...."

hahaha, breaking the fourth wall is a staple of the MG series....

MGS 3 is about the time you play as "big boss", where how the real snake gets the tittle "big boss", which is clone later to be solid snake and liquid snake in MGS 1, seriously the storyline so great untill it will make a sensetive person cry , cheers

The battle against Psycho Mantis was legend... Who the feck would have guessed we had to use the 2nd controller port

If u play the GC version lagi penat. Got 4 controller port and have to keep on changing until the last one

BTW, if we choose to save meryl, otacon didn't die...he just escape on his own. So u hv no gay ending with him but u didn't get the stealth camo.

For me the battle against The End in MGS3 is the best. You can spend hour(s) for that boss (if you don't cheat).

yes from MGS1 on the PS1 n the Gamecube (Titled: Twin Snakes)

Fighting The End first time out was friggin tiring. The old dwarf just camps there in a map spreading three screens and only moves occasionally. That plus his camo outfit made this battle a chore. Had to squint and look for the glint of his rifle. Second round playing I just killed the fart when presented the opportunity early in the game.

lulz look like this is a MGS revival thread, i wish to replay the game but, bad news i play it more than 5 times for MGS 1

MGS2 is rubbish. Don't bother.

Actually that quote was already in the original PS1 version. I had a turbo-fire gamepad back then. Just for kicks, I decided to defy Ocelot's threats and have a go. Yup, sure enough, holding down the circle button is considered as only a single button press. The game pretty much forced you to play it old school. Button-mash, NOW!

As an aside, MGS1's "interaction" with the player is kinda ridiculous/funny. My top 3 moments:

3. Psycho Mantis proclaiming that he can move your controller... with the power of his mind!
2. Naomi administering a "massage" on the player's shoulder
1. "You like Castlevania, don't you?"

Ahaha.. yeah..
I also prefer playing RE & FF with at least 1 friend acc..
At least someone to share the journey with.. LOL xD

Is mantis the boss after we pass the electric floor stage? (The 1 that needs to use Nikita to remote destroy the powerhouse?)

your lead character is not solid. the lead call jack/raiden. for me, not quite best la. mgs1 more best. more tricks.

1 trick before u fight psycho mantis, make sure u have konami saved game in your memory card. but make sure, the release is before the mgs1, for example castelvania, win11, etc. and u see what psycho mantis will say.

i have many hidden funny things in mgs1. but already forgot. since long time not playing it.

merrly (sorry forget the name) panties cutscence is the legend , what else, if you rush in the washroom too fast you'll saw her with panties, if you follow her slowly she already wearing pants, cheers

-edit- oh another extra four cutscene during the rescue of DARPA chief, you can peek down at merrly cells she is actually doing four different evertime you climb up the stairs again and again, of course one is also with panties , cheers

anyone played ghost babel on the GBC? i finished MG1 & MG2 from my subsistence disc 2 and thought they were pretty great, esp MG2 for grey fox fans..... just wondering if ghost babel is like MG1/2.

yah the best boss fight in MGS3! LOL tat old fool cant be kill using running around method! But when u know the technique his a piece of cake just wear the heat google and walk around see his footstep means his nearby! Shoot him at the back! No just use the tranquilizer to KO him! Or else u can set ur PS2 time to 1 week later! Let him died becoz waiting too long! Or snipe in the first time u meet him on the wheel chair!

i tought point him back with a gun and hold him up is the best things to do and get an extra item

One more thing...based on how many times u saved or die in the game...psycho mantis will do a psychology analysis of ur behavior.

I once saved so many times (each new stage)...and then he said:

U are a very prudent man,...bla2

me too.... but i didn't have any Nintendo saved files with me, except maybe Eternal Darkness but i don't know if he recognise that so he didn't mention anything about Nintendo or Miyamoto, lost opportunity there.

From MGS 1 till MGS 3 i only play normal difficulty and dont bother harder ones coz its THAT hard,to whoever manage to win in hard and above difficulty,i salute you.

It has good game mechanics, but unfortunately prefers you to watch endless cutscenes with interminable and hopelessly written dialogue. It breaks the golden rules of gaming AND cinema. Just wiki the story. Probably the most overrated game ever, even more so than FFVIII.

actually if you shoot a correct animal in the beginning of the fight, you can take him down in 7, 8 minutes.

nope, not the fast forward the internal clock or shoot the wheelchair trick. too faggoty for me.

on the side note, my favourite MGS is MGS2. its the only game that had 'wft just happened' after you completed

the game. i liked the dialogues and the cinematics. It makes people THINK. MGS is not a mindless FPS, where the only cutscene happens after you kill/bombed someone.

The best thing is it's only RM113 for all three title! and its NTSC/UC version

It will be released in March and I'm ordering mine right now at PA

Twin Snakes was developed by Silicon Knights, not Konami Japan West (now Kojima Production)

Hideo Kojima was only the advisor to the game. I think Solicon Knights are a Nintendo first party developers, hence porting a
it to PS2 is quite, impossible. But you got one thing right, there is no harm in hoping:)

I will hate to play the CDs on my ps2 and killing the lens

a lot of ppl have been speculating on the mgs1 part but if u study the box art carefully, you will notice the "black borders" for MGS1 says playstation instead of playstation2. the only way to confirm is if they will release information on the number of discs included..... like subsistence, what about disc 2?

it's got all the parody videos, snake vs monkey and other cool bonus, it would be a shame if those were left out.

If u hv played the GC Version...u will wish that they nvr release the GC version. The music was crap. The voice acting was lame...only the story was intact. I played on my wii...and it doesn't feel as good as i played it for the PS n PC version.

What's this about?

i enjoyed the cutscenes immensely, sure it sometimes makes no sense in the Metal Gear universe but it was still a cool remake. maybe because i was four years late when i first played the game so i was dy numb to all the criticism and didn't really expect it to be better than the original.

Btw... if you were to play all of the Metal Gear games from start again, in which order you going to play it?

play according to time line or according to the time they are released?

If play according to time line, first one will be MGS3, then what's the next?
MG on NES/MSX?

The one after MGS3 would be MGS OPS on PSP.

after MPO would be Metal Gear 1 &2, the subsistence ports are highly recommended as they play just perfectly with new translations and character portraits for the codec scenes. sure they look ancient as hell but the storyline is still fascinating esp MG2......

I heard some say GBA version's story is before the MGS1

the GBC version has no link whatsoever to the MGS universe.

God I just love the series, my favourite experiences is in mgs2 when the games tell you to stop playing, that it was just a game, I thought the game was alive(i was eleven or tweleve).....I love the immersiveness and the mind numbing storyline plus all the smart jokes and the game is overall a really fun n satisfying game............Hate all the fanservice and overlenghty storyline though(the game is quit short if you minus the cutscene)....

You see, I just love my friend's reaction and one youtube comment like this:

"Meryl ? She died already in MGS1"
"Didn't you play MGS1 ? X_X"

I replied:

"MGS got two ending"
"Didn't you know? X_X"

During the Ocelot torture scene, Ocelot warns you not to use turbo-fire, or he'll know.
