then don't watch movies at 1080p because it is too clear like they are talking to you  doh.gif

1080p and 48fps are two different things - 1080p is the resolution and relates to quality of the image - 48fps affects speed of the image being displayed.

1080p can still be in 24fps and as clear as being there - ie: bluray with the 'smooth motion'/high refresh rate interpolation feature turned OFF on the TV.

guys, now we have HFR 48fps 3D, will we have a HFR 48fps 2D?

I'm sure there will be.. but not looking forward to it.

My 48fps experience at tgv 1u - clear, sharp details, achieves a documentary style look which, for me, badly represents middle-earth - after being so accustomed to the previous trilogy at 24fps.

It was a struggle througout trying to enjoy 'the Hobbit' in HFR... i could tolerate static dialogue close-up scenes - but, as soon as the camera moves - OMG.. giant LED TV screen with motion-flow turned on.. even in 3d, its horrifying.

So, i walked out of halfway, when the dwarves arrive at rivendell - and going to good old imax3d at 24fps tomorrow.

I can see they now have Atmos for the 3D/HFR version (scroll down) for GSC 1u now available for booking - 3 shows per day.

I saw it in IMAX 3D but I don't quite know how to differentiate if it's HFR or not. The visuals are sharp but depth of the 3D was only as good as the films that are converted to 3D in post production.

It is very possible that GSC 1U's hall 3 could cater to HFR since the Atmos was just installed there. The hall seemed brand new, as though it's just renovated.

HFR is very similar to high definition sports/news broadcasts/filmed inside studio material.
Images tend to be perceived as moving slightly faster - the benefit is when the image pans, there is no motion blurring. The drawback is - it looks like high definition sports/news broadcasts in dialogue scenes.

I'm surprised, as The Hobbit was filmed with 3D cameras.

Dolby Atmos would be great to try out..
