I'm more interested in HFR3D feedback... so far it has been positive, but I wonder if the whole 'movie feel' is gone. The use of 48fps could be a turning point for film makers, even the Avatar sequels will be using this.

Can't wait to see this tomorrow night. I'm really hoping it is going to be a blast. Peter Jackson won't let me down, I know it.

Seems like TGV IMAX have permanently increase their tickets price.

Normal Seat = RM30
Premium Seat = RM32
Couple Seat=RM 68

No justification given, just main increase only....

it was so-so only. very boring at the beginning but action packed in the second half. not very fresh though. i can watch LOTRs all over again and get the same entertainment out of it

JRR Tolkien wrote the Hobbit first as a children fantasy story.
While LOTR he wrote later, dark apocalyptic theme.

Totally different genre, but theyre connected

Just select normal 3D, not the IMAX 3D. Normal 3D will feature 48fps.

Watched The Hobbit in 48fps yesterday, and I love it. Some may say it's like watching soap opera. For me it's like watching a hybrid of a movie and a live action performance. And it takes 3D to another level. It feels like you're inside Bilbo house for instance, or inside the battle itself. And you get less eye fatigue, less motion blur during fast scene. And you can see clearly during battle scene, so smooth and vivid. My fiance love it too and she's normally don't like to watch 3D due to the dim picture. The movie in 3D 48fps is brighter with much higher clarity like watching 2D.

But for certain CGI scene, since everything is so clear and vivid, you can see some flaw in the special effects, but does not detract the whole experience unless you're really nit-picking. tongue.gif

Overall, I think 48fps is the future if done right. The Hobbit is one of them, maybe not 100% perfect but they nailed it. Gonna watch in 48fps again this Saturday. biggrin.gif

Watched it last night.

Really really manly brotherhood kind of story. And it was unexpectingly great! biggrin.gif

For some people, it got too many all talk/dialoge scenes, but need to catch the phrase as there is many important message which related to LOTR lies within it.

and some spoiler that would not harm your eagerness/feel to watch the movie

You can still watch 48fps on your 2nd viewing. laugh.gif

General consensus is to watch 2D on first viewing to enjoy the story and watch 48fps on 2nd viewing to enjoy the technology, coz for some, they will be distracted with the sudden change of higher frame rate, and can't concentrate on the story. I felt that yesterday during the first half-an-hour coz it's the first time watching a movie so smooth, so vivid, and at the same time trying to focus on the story.

I want HFR3D... cry.gif Bought 4 tickets to IMAX 3D (that's 4x RM30) without actually thinking about the whole 48fps thing. Only realized it AFTER buying, silly me. If no "Into The Darkness" 9-minute preview, some more hurt. Then again, it's my first IMAX 3D film. Why can't it be IMAX 3D in HFR3D.

You'll be hurt. Censorship has not passed Star Trek yet. That's why it's omitted.

Added on December 14, 2012, 3:21 pmAh 48FPS... You have truly changed everything I believe in movies. Of course, next would be Atmos. But that's not here yet, and probably won't be so soon.

But my simple take is that 48fps changes everything. I think it's A WAY to go. Definitely a new option to undertake like how IMAX movies are made. The shots taken were spectacular and evenly paced. Action does not become blurry (i'm looking at you Captain America) and everything looks smooth. Brightness uplifted and depth levels were astounding.

I had some issue trying to see what was real and what was CGI at times. Since it was successful in blurring that line, I felt more compelled to give it more another thumbs up.

As for the movie, never followed LOTR, but I wished I had more of Bilbo Baggins. Really did. Martin Freeman was amazing, although Armitage also gave a good one. I felt the screen time was equal to everyone.

But i felt there was some issue with editing. Mainly during the Goblin one.

In other words, it's only false because it's not proven true.

I'd blame FINAS. But hey, finger pointing never lead to anywhere anyways.

So I was correct in assuming that 'we' don't usually get special offerings. Damn it... Next week might see the movie again in HFR3D if its really good, else, well, there isn't another film in 48fps anytime soon. I would really like to see it for myself. I've seen 48fps on an LCD TV demo before (I think it was 'Smooth Vision') and it looked really bizarre yet eerily life-like.

Wow, totally burned. Luckily I'm watching 3D HFR (also TGV).

It's hard to say whose fault it is really. It could be TGV jumped the gun and sold the IMAX tickets saying it will have the 9 minute clip before waiting censorship confirmation. But then can you really blame them? This is their chance to make more $$ than GSC with their better IMAX.

Then again, not surprised if censorship decided to last minute say no, which usually comes just a few days before release date. Cinema manager always veli gan chiong when got advance ticket sales.

But kesian TGV kena TKK.
