i actually did check it when they delivered to my house, i use fullscreen image of white, red, green, blue. no dead pixel. the dead pixels
(2 of them) only appear after about 3 hours later....

i should have listen to you, i did read your experience on r7 and r8 of samsung...i am being fooled by the cnet, zdnet review..aiihhh..

they said samsung model a450 better then sony s400/m4000.

QUOTE(welwitchia @ Aug 11 2008, 10:24 AM)
Where's the dead pixel? If its smacked right in the center of the screen, then u might be able to argue that it disrupts your viewing pleasure.
But to be honest, if u view the screen at "normal" distance, I doubt u can see the dead pixel.

You should have checked the panel before u accepted it.

Also, I'm pretty sure Samsung doesn't cover a single dead pixel. I have two 32" LCDs from them and my experience with the Samsung warranty is anything but satisfactory.

my recommendation to you...buy any brand except SAMSUNG.

i bought samsung a450 yesterday..got 2 dead pixel...call the shop to replace with a new set.
the new set also got one dead pixel...then i give-up..i just hav to live with that one dead pixel...

i just hope no more dead pixel popping out soon.

u don't need 1:1 pixel mapping to view 4:3 contents..they have function for that, adding two black bars left and right...but its not advisable to do that.

QUOTE(toytoy @ Aug 25 2008, 11:51 AM)
Hi all, would like to find out if Sony KLV-40V400A supports 1:1 Pixel Mapping? Can view PC input & normal SDTV contents in 4:3 format? I don't like to watch stretched 4:3 feeds in 16:9 keke.

Thanks biggrin.gif

samsung pixel problem?

mine got 2 dead pixel after one day....ask them to replace a new one.
the new set also got one dead pixel.

maybe i'm just having bad luck or samsung is king of dead pixel.

Hope u guys can help me... which is better? in terms of quality & performance.

Samsung LA32A550  (vs)  Sharp LC32A53M  (vs)  Sony 32V400A
-does Samsung's Full HD reliable?
-how serius is Samsung's pixel problem?
-is Sharp's 100hz important?
-is contrast ratio important? Sharp has the lowest 7500:1

hope can get some tips here... so far price doesn't matter (as long belowRM3500)... thanks

i have samsung lcdtv model la40a450(720p only not fullhd). when i connect to xbox 360 via vga i cannot change the setting for backlight and sharpness.backlight fix at
max value = 10.

the same case when i connect the tv to pc via hdmi or vga and have the resolution at 1360x768. if i set
the pc resolution to 1280x720 then i will be able to change the backlight and sharpness setting.

native resolution for this tv is 1366x768. so the best and clear setting is 1360x768 but i'm worried for tv's lifespan since backlight at max.
if set to 1280x720, the text a bit blur.

is this common?

guys need advise. my 4 years old lcd tv samsung recently start showing these symptoms:

-every time when turn on, it'll display white screen, image barely visible like 'negative film' effect.
-after two or three minutes it'll slowly going back normal and can play games for hours without problem.

is it worth it to send for repair and roughly how much it'll cost?

thanks.

update...already sent my tv for repair and they fix in two days only. they said they
replace the board inside and charge me rm 400 with only 1 month warranty....hopefully it'll last at least for 1 year more.

Try asking in the home entertainment thread bro, there's a specifics thread by brand. Maybe you could get better answers there.
