Hey...guys. I just got my PS3 recently and I am in the midst of looking for a 32" LCD TV to go with it. There are some points that I am still unsure about what to look for in a LCD TV so hopefully someone here can shed some light on this matter :

1. Full HD (1080p) - A lot of reviews/comments stated that 1080p is not important for any LCD below 40" but from what I have seen Full HD LCD does produce clearer pictures compared to regular HD Ready LCD although not as significant as a larger size LCD.....so the same question...is this neccessary ?

2. Refresh Rate (100Mhz, 120Mhz) - Does this have any effect on a 32" ? Does this also make HD Ready LCD (100+Mhz) a more worthwhile purchase than a Full HD LCD running at 1/2 the speed (60Mhz) ?

3. Contras Ratio and Black Level - From what I heard anything with a CR above 5000:1 is already enough but does higher contras ratio produce better pictures ? The standard these days seems to be more than 10000:1 but I have seen some LCDs with less CR (i.e. Sharp Aquos) so how do they stack up against LCDs with higher CR ? Please also do tell me which LCD currently has the best Black Level (My guess will be Sony hmm.gif )

4. HDMI Cable - From what I have heard from my friend high quality HDMI cables (RM150-RM200) produce much better images than regular HDMI cables (RM60-RM100).

At the moment I am considering the following models for the following reason :

a) Panasonic Viera 32LZ800?? (should be "MK" I think) : My top choice at the moment. Full HD, 100Mhz, SD card slot & very nice picture quality but unsure of it's availibiliy in Malaysia (Anyone know any local dealers carrying this model please do tell notworthy.gif )

b) Panasonic Viera 32LX800MK : Same as above only without the full HD support and I don't like the silver lining on the panel tongue.gif .

c) Samsung 32A650 : Full HD, DNie 2, nice frame design although the colour reproduction is not as good as some other LCDs and it's not running at 100Mhz (only for 40" above) but the Black Level is excellent.

d) LG 32LG70 : Has all the bells and whistles but little is known about this model as it doesn't seem to be available here (same as Panas Viera LZ series) so hope someone can tell me where I can look for it.(I've also heard that LG black level is not that good but not sure if it's the same with this model.)

e) Sony Bravia V Series KLV-32V400A : Produce the best colour saturation (almost too viabrant blink.gif ) but it's not the cheapest HD Ready LCD around. (Plus I heard it doesn't do well for gaming)

f) Toshiba Regza 32CV500 : Cheapest LCD set on my list but the picture quality is almost on par with Panas 32LX800MK but without the 100Mhz support of course.

Suggestions and comments are welcome. Thanks in advance.

One noob question guys. Does an animated film look better/smoother when you switch on the so called "Anti-Judder" effect (Mostly found in 40"+ high end LCD series like Sony X series, Samsung 6 series above, Philips PFL5403 above) ? I know it does affect cinematic live action movies but wonder how a 2D animated film will look like.

Thanks.
