i open to new suggestion thx

Both TV that u have in mind is 3D. If u really wanted 3D tv, i would advise u not to go for LED/LCD TV... (3D better go for plasma)

Well, since both TV uses active shutter technology, without 3d glasses, the picture will looks blurry...

Anyway, 3D is still new. and most mid-range model for this year hav that function..

If u wanna save some money buy 2010 mid-range model with no 3D, 2010 LED is really cheap now.

Oh, if u wanna buy 3DTV, buy the new 2011 model... not 2010 model..

I did a review on my 3DTV here.. u can have a look http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1825421

thanks for your insight..greatly appreciated....hahah really close into buying the samsung ua46d6600...new model tho..need to check out 3d plasma with good 2d picture...

i already tried the 3d effect of the samsung tv with glass of course, kinda cool....

thx for the review...it makes me think a bit

Well.. if u dont mind waiting.. perhaps you can wait for the new pana new 2011 plasma. The ST30, GT30 and VT30 series. Heard this TV is out this month (end of month if not mistaken, but the GT30 might not be on sale in msia)
For this model, they have improve the anti reflective coating and also phosphur retention time.. ie, very very less crosstalk/ghosting...
if u tak tahan, u can get 2010 pana plasma, which is quite cheap now since its own clearance... or u can get 2011 samsung.. 3D viewing wise... comparable.. with pana win just a bit.. thats my opinion...

U can look for the new 2011 lg plasma as well

If u wanna ask some question, just leave at my post there.. easier...

Anybody using or experience using this model b4:

-SAMSUNG PS51D451

plz elaborate the plus n minus bout it..

i'v seen that model too at a samsung shop.. from my eyes the black/darkness color screen is very nice..  the main difference is the UA55D6400 hv the feature to convert 2D to 3D.. but the screen is a bit reflective similar like plasma where you can see your self on screen when it is off or too much brightness in the area..

The question about waiting, that you must ask yourself.. these electronic stuff blossom with enhances and features every few month at least.. its a never ending journey i guess..
other than that i cant comment since i do not own one or hv experience using it...

Well.. im not using the PS51D451, but im using the 3 model, PS51D491.. if im not mistaken, it uses the same panel.
okie.. its a plasma TV.. so the pq is very nice...
other thing i like, this TV can be set really bright... compared to 2010 model (i didnt compared with other manufacturer 2011 model like pana n LG.. but from reviews, 2011 samsung is the brightest plasma.. they do this because they want to compensate the lost of brightness during 3d viewing) .. (its not as bright as 2011 LED TV, but near in par)
things i dont like.. its reflect especially during daytime viewing.. but no issues to me cause i install an anti reflection screen..

try hunt for a good price for this model.. lower rm2700.. just to let u know.. pana 50u30k lowyat seller advertise as low as rm2899 (if not mistaken, n this is full HD)

Read my impression of my TV here http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1825421

hi, have just got back from the shop. Samsung UA55D6000 - RM6, 800k & UA55D6400 is RM7,500. Which is the choice and shud I wait longer? any further reccomendations? or advice?

if u looking for 3dtv n insist to go for LED.. better if u go for latest sharp LE830... other led TV may not be worth it cause of significance noticeable crosstalk/ghosting while watching 3d content, if me not mistaken the biggest size is 52" and its expensive

seem u hav a good budget... n if u can lower the screen size.. check out the PS51D6900... for me.. im very impress with this TV (for less than rm6k price range)

the pana ST30.. can be kinda expensive.. u'll be surprise with the rrp...

oh yeah, u using 3d for gaming or movies...
just to let u know.. i extremely rarely use my 3dtv for movies.. cause it come with only 2 glasses.. for me, if wanna watch movie.. must hav at least 3 glasses..

is PS51D451 and PS43D451 full HD 1080P?
*
Nope its not... PS51D451 (resolution 1366 X 768) and PS43D451 (1024 X 768) is only HD ready but can accept 1080p signal. But for 51" since full HD n HD ready hard to differention unless u sit really close (like 1.5m to the screen). but wont recommend the PS43D451 cause its not actually 16:9 ratio native...

if u looking for 42 plasma, better get 42U30K, again in lowyat seller they sell below rm2k.. shop price im not sure

anyway, personal opinion, if wanna go for 42, better get LED TV

so far.. i havent experience any major image retention issues...
once in a while, there is noticeable image retention.. but this is rare for me, i think perhaps this happen only once (after 3+ more of usage) after i just finish playing a movie with 4:3 aspect (to let u know, i always play movie with its native resolution) n when i watch another 16:9 content I notice a bit of side border but it just went away after watching the 16:9 content approximately 5min
for gaming, so far unnoticeable image retention is there.. i say unnoticeable because i hav to actually go close to the TV and try to find it... to me this is not an issues...
oh yeah, to let u know.. before i use the TV i spend one week to break in the display...

Need bout 100hrs to break in...

my concern on plasma is the image retention/burn ins.... this is the weakness of plasma if used with still image, logo, etc..

but current plasma hv reduce that problems... meaning its unnoticeable and the image wears out over time and after changing to moving picture... but still that weakness is still there i guess..

im still deciding on which would be best for me... but for personal preference i like the Plasma Better than LCDs/LED...

But mostly my use is for gaming.... that made me having second thought
*
Hmm. for gaming people usually recommend led/lcd tv...

previously, i always recommend people to buy LED/LCD tv if the main purpose for gaming.. but not sure whether this is applicable anymore especially if u r using consoles (pc if mainly for gaming not work)

n to let u know... i do use my plasma for pc gaming... n again so far nor problem, mostly the games i played doesnt have many still image within the game itself (like HUD)

final advise... buy what you are comfortable with...

but if u get a plasma, do break-in the display...
