QUOTE(guest8910 @ Jun 20 2008, 11:28 AM) actually, sony has released new V series model KLV-32V400 for 32" bravia lcd (the model is identical to W series in appearance, not the spec laa..) got black, brown & red color the RCP price is RM2999 (but you can get ard RM2700 (plus free gift) if you able to nego) Yeah.. I compared both V and S series last nite (coincidentally Harvey Norman placed them side by side).. most likely i'll take the S series since it's rm 500 cheaper.. for u guys out there, i found a Sony shop in Ikano who accept trade-in for old tv, any model, any size... they want my obsoleted 14" crt tv for rm 1000 if i take their 37" or 40" V series TV, or RM200 for 32" S and V300A series.... not bad leh... limited stock... QUOTE(Evirober @ Jun 20 2008, 12:11 PM) Star_Scream: Hmmm thats a very good bargain. I would not have mind a 37" with a 1K discount. but wait a sec.. I wonder how much is for a Sony 37" first..... 37" rm 4299 minus rm1000 = rm 3299 40" rm 4999 minus rm1000 = rm 3999 hey... dun take all arrr... leave one unit for me

QUOTE(redken @ Jun 20 2008, 06:08 PM) LG/Samsung/Philips. These are the cheapest few. I cant recall any particular model though. If u really want to save, u should buy a 'phasing out' model. Best place for you to hunt is hypermarkets, they often do 1 model only heavy discount kinda promotion. Anything new is just overcooked, LCD performance as we know it will only fall flat on your face. Watever you do, try to stay away from 32" model. I have one which is purchased years ago. Adequate at that time, but no longer holds the candle to the latest slew of bigger boys. oh yeah... should have try the hypermarkets too... very agreed with you on the 'overcooked' part.. QUOTE(ikan_semilang @ Jun 20 2008, 07:34 PM) Isn't true? If like that i want find cheap tv 14" and trade in to get lcd tv. Can get rebate RM1000 for it...... True... i wasn't sure if my 14" is still working but the sales guy said they dun mind, they juz wanted to clear their old stocks...

Hi all,
Need some sifu here to advice.
Currently I am using my laptop to watch DVD with my 37" LCD TV, connected via VGA (RGB) cable. The pic quality is acceptable and I am not sure if a DVD player with HDMI would makes it even better? or maybe juz a slight diff?
Is the pic quality from my setup now is limited due to the:- 1) vga cable? 2) graphic card? 3) software i used to watch DVD?
the output to my TV is 1360 X 780, picture is superb, but when I watch DVD, the resolution dropped to 780 X 480 (based on the info from media player classic).
If there is a huge differences from a HDMI DVD player compared to PC input, then i might consider getting one...
Any advice?
