rclxms.gif We know first hand how close Mac owners are to their systems, they can almost be like family. But what would you do if your beloved Mac was lost or stolen? IF ONLY there is a way to track it...
It is now possible with Verey I, a simple and ingenious software that helps keep track of your precious machine, globally.

How it works?

Upon connecting to a wireless or wired internet network, an authentication dialog will pop up requesting the user to enter a password.

If the user fails to enter the correct password within the pre-defined timing, hidden alerts (with video capture) and information* (see Technical) will be sent out to any pre-defined email address(es)!

Smile, you're on camera!

Verey I will record via the built-in iSight camera* and send out alerts together with other important information; IP addresses, machine serial number, MAC Hardware Address and even details of nearby wireless networks out immediately!

The machine will then automatically 'freeze up' to prevent any mishandling and display details on how to contact the owner.

Twitter!

With Twitter service, owner can also receives the alerts via IM, email, from the web and even as SMS Text message to your phone.

*Works on Mac machines without camera too.

Technical

IP addresses:

wireless network
Refers to any type of network that is wireless, the term is most commonly used to refer to a telecommunications network whose interconnections between nodes is implemented without the use of wires, such as a computer network.

MAC Hardware Address
A quasi-unique identifier attached to most network adapters (NICs). It is a number that acts like a name for a particular network adapter.

All these to help the owner when reporting it to the authorities to help in the retrieval. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif
