wanted to get the yamaha f-310, since my f-210's neck patah......

anyway , i heard that SX acoutic guitars are good and cheap, some say comparable to a 2-3k guitar.

so i wanan go and hav a taste of it and see wat it can do, so wat model should i get, where and estimated price for it???

pls not more than rm800.

prefer solid top , and if ther is a pickup = bonus loh....

btw... guitar noob here. played with kapok, my dad broke it. my f210, my friend broke it. hopefully no 1 breaks my SX !!!!!

Well a solid top SX should cost around RM500 - RM900. Some more exotic models could cost more. Someone I know bought a SX solid top with a cutaway and pickup at slightly more than RM800.

their "exotic models" just use bubinga back and sides
supposedly it sounds much darker, i personally thought they sounded a little like rosewood with more bottom.

for acoustics, my tastes completely opposite from electrics.
i want full maple bodies for acoustics
i hate maple for electrics.

fretboards for both of cos must be ebony.

Since your luck is bad with acoustic guitars,why not get an electric guitar?

woh fatt has a 12-string SX acoustic for RM300.
i was real tempted to get it, but the workmanship on that isnt that great, maybe cos its a older model...and maybe thats why its so cheap also.

i guess now they would've improved abit.

wat is a cutaway ?

could u explain to me by wat u mean of darker and brighter sound ? i'm guessing that the brighter sound is more high pitch or sort right ?

cannot la.... electric need amp and stuff... susah.

12 strings ? for me impossible

my fren las time bought an SX around 800 oso
it uses zebrawood for sides and back front i tink is normal spruce
with cutaway, and pickups

it sounded cool after he change the string retainers to brass1s

Yep, you got that right. Darker means it'll be deeper and bassier, brighter it'll be more trebly.

Give an idea of which artist do you like.

SX use zebrawood too? Whoa gotta check them out. They look funky!!

i like bands mostly... like matchbox20, goo goo dolls, lifehouse, the callings and so on

on the jiwang side, i like pete murray, jack johnson, John mayor stuff..... but they hard to play at my level.

i like strumming more and with some plucking solo would be nice.

ah bai...just go to woh fatt n test them out lar.
sendiri play, see which guitar feels the best to u, which sounds nicer to u. Sound/tone and feel is after all a personal prefference.
Theres someone letting go a Norman B20 on Jamtank for 800 if i remember correctly. Go check it out also lar.

SX is really nice for the price u pay. My SX bass served me well. But now im a true blue Fender man. haha.
