well KVReninem has a point.
Uni level is tough
During my first semester i learned it the hard way. Lecturers told me to start studying as soon as possible. and i just laughed it off and said to myself
*
Its not really true to say that Uni is that difficult. Its mainly a matter of discipline, that's all.

Its not a matter of start studying early or anything like that, mainly its just that you'll need to keep up with the work at all times (which is not that difficult, you just need to discipline yourself, that's it).

No you dont.
Why?
because  i doubt you know your syllabus ( lecturer changes what they deem is necessary and what is not  all the time )
anyways different people handle their problems differently, some people are capable of studying last minute in uni and still get good grades (few but still exist )
but generally key is to study consistently and understand what you are studying ( dont memorise )

And this is not really true either. Subject outlines would have been made available already right at the start of the semester, and these days, lecture notes r already downloadable from the internet weeks in advance.

Its recommended to go through the lecture slides even before the lecture itself, and if you're to look properly, for some lectures, there will also be a list of prescribed readings to be done before you enter the lecture theater.

waa? are they racist? i heard about australian alot racist and make me worry if im going to continue my education there.

Simply put, rednecks exists everywhere. You do not even need to leave Malaysia to encounter such types of racism.

So what's the big difference? At least you know that in Australia, action will indeed be taken should you lodge a complaint should you encounter racial harassment.

Yep yep, you should try to finish the tutorial questions before the tute classes.  That way you will be able to identify which problems you need help with, and then you can seek assistance from your tutor.. instead of getting home after the tute class and realising that you infact do not know how to do a particular question - thus needing to wait next week for your next tute tongue.gif
Just to add to this, practical lab sessions for those doing IT right? The lab sessions are for demonstration purposes, and not for you to do your practical work in. A lot of ppl tend to make this mistake, and grumble that the 3 hour lab session is not enough for them to properly write their code. This is the reason why the questions for the practical lab session is given out a week prior.

Passing their exams is another story. Here the passing mark is 50 and recently they cut our time from 3 hours to 2 per paper. lol.

I'm not sure how its like for you in engineering, but the bulk of the papers we had in Comp Sci mainly requires only around 1.5 hours to finish off, despite the 3 hour timeline (except for those that requires a lot of writing).

The 1st hour more or less determines the passing point. Should a person not be able to get to the passing point by the 1st hour, then chances of failure is extremely high. The other 30 minutes is just to fill in the rest of the stuff that's skipped in the 1st hour.

I'll tell you the truth, i personally felt given enough time 90 would have been easy for my Telecommunications Principles exam, it's not like i didn't know all the answers, my hand just got too tired to keep up. All the questions came out as generally long winded essays, managed only an A instead of a HD. No time to check, even until the last minute i was rushing my ass off.
Ahh... those types. Yeah, I know how its like. We've got those types of papers as well, just that its not the majority among those we need to take. Most of the papers in Comp Sci are the russian roulette types, where like I mentioned, its either you do reasonably well or you flunk miserably. Come to think of it, this pretty much describes anything related to discrete maths.

I guess its still allowable if you've really made a huge mess out of your time table to the point that there's totally nothing else for you to take at all in a particular semester, and the rest of what you need is only offered in the next.
