Yup, all unis here have the same thing... 12 weeks + all the exams, but some subjects have mid-sems as well so don't know if u like that or not XD
Anyway, I'm 1st year Melb Uni Environments here & 2nd year in Melbourne It's a great place to study and I'm enjoying everyday over here Cost of living and Melb uni fees are undoubtly very expensive. Engineering in Melbourne is good, and if you can get in this year it's even better. Because with the Melbourne Model you'll have to take Bachelor of Environments to do engineering - i think it's great because I get to learn multidisciplinary stuff but if you don't think it's relevant then u better don't do it or you'll be suffering, + it'll be more difficult and expensive to get into Masters of Engineering afterwards. This is the last year Melb Uni's offering Engineering directly so what can I say - treasure it if you will... But UNSW is great too - try checking out the course structure and subjects you'll be doing in both unis - go with what appeals to you more. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Another thing, off-topic: for all the lovely peeps in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Canberra, Adelaide & Brisbane - as part of EndChildSlavery campaign, there's going to be Global Night Shift - a massive youth rally/concert/street party on the 16th of May, tickets will be on sale from ticketmaster for $20 and all profits will go to Oaktree Foundation's education & development projects in India This campaign also show Australia and the rest of the world of an attitude shift in us young people - standing up against child slavery - it will be held simultaneously across the 6 major cities in Australia - and it will attract huge media attention and will pressure the major corps to be transparent, ethical in their trading with 3rd world countries and not to exploit them! For us lucky Melbourne people, we have the event held at wonderful Docklands this year |

Quite often when I try to log into the student portal from home it just keeps refreshing, and that's so annoying and I can't access the student portal. Anyone else experience this? Is it normal or do I need to configure some sort of settings to fix this? |
