Hi,
As posted on that thread, I think it would better if we split up the thread (v1) into few portion and gathers relevant data from it.

For example:-

Page 1-25(me)
Page 26-50 (you) and so on..

I could help you about 75pages (and could start by tonight).

anyone wanna join the boat ?

i applied TFN already...
therefore am i charged with lesser tax???

You're charged the appropriate amount of tax. biggrin.gif

If you don't provide a TFN, your wages will be taxed at 46.5%.

is it? Haven't been to Newmarket or probably I don't even know that I've already been in Newmarket or not... laugh.gif Is it inside CBD or a lil bit off? Since I'm from Geelong and it's easier to go to Laguna.
Is it your final year already mate? Must be really tough then. I'm already preparing for my thesis and it's like woah....tonnes and tonnes of reading and writing...
I've experienced one cold time at Perth during the time of winter during transit at Perth airport. It was really cold until I'm arrived at Victoria after that straight to Geelong and I think it must be really lucky to be in Perth because it is way more colder....

Hmmm... there's also a KFL in Footscray

QUOTE(haya @ Jul 31 2008, 07:20 AM)
Took me about 3 weeks to get mine.

To all those who are working part time while studying: do you have to pay super? It seems my employer (a certain supermarket chain) is taking a cut from my pay to pay for super. I was under the impression that international students, while Australian citizens for tax purposes, can opt-out from contributing to a Superannuation fund.

I tried reading up, but I frankly can't understand half of what the taxation literature is talking about.
*
Employers have to pay super for you if you are eligible.
To be eligible you must:
- be at least 18 years of age and under 70
- be paid at least $450 (before tax) in a calendar month, and
- work full time, part-time or on a casual basis.

If you are under 18, you are eligible for compulsory super guarantee if you work more than 30 hours a week.

If you are eligible for super, your employer must pay a minimum of 9% of your earnings for your ordinary hours of work into your super account. These payments are ‘super guarantee’ payments or ‘employer contributions’.

As temporary residents, international students who have worked in Australia are eligible to access their super once they permanently depart Australia.

To access you super, instructions and forms can be found on the ATO Website

Hope that helps! biggrin.gif
