UNSW is a pretty good choice for engineering. They have the largest engineering faculty in Aus and that means they have better facilities and teaching resource for engineering compare to other uni.

It's just my 2 cents.Do correct me if im wrong.

QUOTE
Foreigners studying in Australia will automatically be allowed to work part-time under new visa arrangements.
From tomorrow, all student visas will be granted with work rights attached, removing the need for people to make an additional application.

Immigration Minister Senator Chris Evans said all international students would be allowed to work up to 20 hours a week while their course is in session.

"It means that international students can apply for part-time jobs in Australia as soon as their courses start," Senator Evans said.

"It will reduce red-tape for students wanting to work in Australia and allow more efficient use of department resources.
"Making it easier for international students to work while they study will also assist industries currently suffering serious labour shortages."

New streamlined processes for people applying for student visas from India, Indonesia and Thailand have also been introduced.

The immigration department has granted 228,592 student visas to people from 191 countries in the year to June 2007.

hahaha haya ur way of seeing it is very simplistic....but anyway.....the thing is i think the rising prices of good is all down to the increase of oil prices.....its just a chain reaction.....

anyway back to our aussie discussion.....i think in some sense vic public transport is still better than KL's....KL's public transport is more exp.....if u dont convert and just comapre the figures (its a simple way of putting it coz in comparison the ppl here n msians earn about the same figures in salary)

QUOTE(haya @ Apr 27 2008, 12:36 PM)
So, oil prices are the only sole reason for rising prices, in the same way Chinese in Malaysia are singlehandedly responsible for keeping the Malays backwards, and Indians are nothing but a source of trouble.

Don't shoot me as a radical. Consider reading Utusan Malaysia and Mingguan Malaysia, and tell me that is not the view of some of the people in power. These are facts, and covering them up as "sensitive" does no one any good.

Public transport in Malaysia is purposely ignored to make people dependent of buying a car to get around. And for many people, that means Proton and Peroudua.

I think its safe to say, that public transport in the state capitals, while not perfect, and there is plenty of room for improvement, is by and large beter than what KL passes for public transport, not to mention the joke of buses outside the capital.

Remember, VIC and NSW are the only 2 states that don't give international student concession fares for  public transport.
*
woo wooo...now now.....so good analogy but what else can be a major contributor of the increase of prices of goods...i mean its always nice to hav someone whu real deep and can see things laterally and compare and ake analogies....but dont u think oil prices is the major major one here?? and btw where did u get those notions bout the chinese and the indians??? i think its just sth that u cooked up urself.....

yea bout the PT in aussie of course there is still room for improvement....but i aint venturing into that yet....im just saying...if we see it from that perspective that ive mentioned....PT in aussie is cheaper....

Why not?

hmmm theres this on goin debate....this concession thing has always been an issue....the msian consulate has even taken a big step of talking to the local govt about it but phailed....

in short the reason why they dun giv concessions is.....they said that the concession fare is subsidized but the taxpayers......like the elderly get conc. coz they were tax payers in the past.....thats why they are reaping the benefits.....local Victorian students enjoy the low fares coz they are future tax payers so its okayy....but most overseas students (they say) are gonna study n then pack and go home....so theres no need to giv them concessison.....but i think alot msians stayed back to work after grad....

so the question that i always ask myself is....can we file a tax return say if we get PR n start working n pay the taxes n etc.... hmm.gif hmm.gif
