Damn, why din come to Sydney. doh.gif
Do i need to buy my return air tickets to Sydney now?

I have book my tickets to go back to Malaysia during the winter break.

How is Jetstar? Is it good?Im thinking of taking Jetstar when im going back to Sydney after the semester break.
*
I took Jetstar back to KL from Syd last summer, overall it's not too bad I would say, but like what Haya just said, if you are getting the normal fares(i.e non-promo fares) back, it isn't really THAT much cheaper. Bear in mind that it is a budget airline, and thus no meals are provided, you either bring your own or purchase from them, in fact the only thing you get from them is just a bottle of mineral water, thats all. Meals would add another $30 one way on top of your fare while the entertainment set (basically a portable LCD that has movies in it) would cost about $10 extra.

Having that said, they do have promotions going on from time to time, I managed to get my ticket last time for slightly under $300 one way inclusive of tax, meals and entertainment set. The only setback was I couldn't change my flight date without incurring quite a hefty penalty+fare differences.

1. you will not graduate.....

2. you cannot complete your course as you visa cannot be extended anymore, without good reasons, and repeated failing is NOT a valid reason......

3. you leave oz without any cert......

4. if your father is as strict as mine's, you will get a hiding......

usually fail twice and you'll be barred from retaking the subject, plus earning yourself a nice little chat with the sub dean or something. that's what i know of my uni though, and i think most of the unis in australia has at least some similar regulations in place.

Why is it that Malaysians are seemingly uncapable of not reading?

Why do we have such talk of bringing money to Australia?

And if you want to know how to bring money to Australia, Limeuu has outlined the options quite well here, here and here. My experience is here. KVReninem, maybe a good addition to the front page? And I don't mean directly copy-pasting either.

haya, for this TT/telegraphic transfer issue, I`m still research on the mechanism used by banks/parents to transfer money over. As I pointed out in the main page, 2 major INTL bank which their HQ /Main office in KL and wide spread varies on each states in Malaysia.
Thats why i`m not going into very details due to it is banking work and own personal finance way to look for cheaper rates of TT. icon_rolleyes.gif

why do we have such talk about bring money out? coz having the high yield currency is worth and i wont mind after all laugh.gif
ask indonesia people, you will know more biggrin.gif

My problem, with your original statement, and many others, is that "wartevar" asked for advice on transfering money back to Malaysia, and everyone comes in and talks about TT'ing TO Malaysia. If you went to a doctor complaining of a headache and he did a open heart surgery on you, I doubt you'd be impressed either.

My second gripe on this thread, this forum and Malaysian's online in general, and I have brought up here and here, is that proper usage of English is none existant sometimes. If you want a casual conversation may I direct you here.

I don't expect English used in a thesis. I don't expect everyone here to be a IELTS 9. I'm not asking it to be enforced Lowyat.net wide; you can use your short forms in the Kopitiam. I'm not even asking for it to be enforced in the Education Essentials subforum. All i ask, is that all participants of the Studying in Australia thread, who persumably should have a IELTS score of 6, and are (considering) studying in Australia, to use proper English. And spell check before hitting "Add Reply". Is that too much to ask?

You are lucky that some of us have taken the trouble to put some basic points in the first few posts in v2 of this thread iteration. The original thread was at best, a collection of conversations.

And while KVReninem was the original starter of this thread, and has done a good job in maintaining the front page FAQ, he is by no means the owner, moderator and the final voice in this thread.

What? Are you incapable of typing in proper English in ONE thread in this subforum?

Not trying to add to this tiny little flame war you have going on b/w yourself and Haya; but.. you DO realise that there is a little search box at the bottom of the page right? You could try using it to help you narrow down your search for whatever it is you're looking for in this thread.

well, it can reach up to a high of 40+ degree celcius in summer, and for winter.. I've no idea because it's only autumn now =) But autumn now, windy and cooling, ranging from 18+ to 20+ *If its not raining*. I love the weather now, neither hot nor cold =D But tends to make my sleepy 'cos of the cozy weather. but heck, I'm on HOLIDAYS XD

anyway, chill guys back there. No flamming =) Hmm.... I guess I'll write in proper english just in case people dont understand. I don't mind reading in abbreviations or short forms though, or broken english >.< Maybe because I'm kinda used to the language when chatting in msn. So chill, no need to flame.

1st day of my 2 weeks holiday and I'm practically bored already. I've got nothing to do. Town is kinda boring, haha xD And all my friends are all schooling. They start their holidays next week sweat.gif So yeah, great, 1 week of boredom.

the minimum that i've experienced in perth was 0c, but in actuality, it is not THAT cold. on the night of the 0c, which happened at around 3-4am and reverted back to 2-4c slightly after, i went out for a short stroll with a jacket n short pants. not really cold, unless the wind is blowing. 0c under a non-windy condition is much more bearable than a 6-8c on windy days.
